This isn't really a technical issue that needs solving. More of a general complaint. Kaspersky kept blocking me from loading the editing of my profile because it perceived it as a damn phishing threat.
Had to turn off web protection temporarily to change my avatar. Why is Kaspersky that overly protective? Any ideas to make it a bit more trustful of certain sites like whitelisting it perhaps.
Okay I lied, can someone give me a hand with Kaspersky 2012 and how I can whitelist Mabination so that it doesn't think a simple act like editing my profile is phishing. I'll keep digging around in the mean time. :gloom3:
UPDATE: Found a way to add exclusions and even though it still warns me that it's a phishing site, it at least lets the damn thing load so I can update my profile without turning it off.
Better to be safer than sorrier I suppose.

A better question would be why it would think that the profile page triggers a phishing alert. It must use some common code with some bad sites? Any details provided in the logs or such?

Well it doesn't give me much details it only says this:
Object:
http://mabination.com/profile.php?do=editprofile
Event: Denied:
http://mabination.com/profile.php?do=editprofile (analysis using the database of phising URLs)
Reason: Heuristic Analysis
For some reason, the database it's using seems to have it pinned as some malicious url.

Well, it says it was done using heuristics. Those aren't always known for being accurate. But that's not much to go on. D:

Unfournatly it's not. Kaspersky doesn't want to bother being more detailed about it unfourantly so that's all I got. Keeping it in the exceptions should be fine for now. Thanks anyways Yoorah.
Well I'm off to bed, getting tired. Night!
UPDATE:
One last thing to add. I was able to edit my profile fine last week or so. It must have been a recent database update in the past week or so that made it trigger all of a sudden. That being said, hopefully it'll resolve itself with some updates.

I know the actual profile pages can cause AV alerts when someone hosted a song on a blacklisted website, though that can also be true for any external content (images mainly) in sigs or posts.
If you ever find out what caused it I'd be curious to know.
