* Miyamoto is interested in getting a new Pikmin out quickly.
* Miyamoto feels that because it's been 10 years since Pikmin's creation, it's time that he made a new character.
* Nintendo is considering adding functionality to the 3DS that will make the system display play time, similar to functionality that's included on Wii.
* Nintendo has no plans at present for a theme park. Even if they did do a theme park, it would not be similar to current theme parks with Nintendo characters substituted in.
* Miyamoto says he's taken an interest in swimming of late. Also, he's member of a youth guidance organization of some form and spends lots of times with school children. Miyamoto said these things in response to a question about what games he's working on. He first noted that he tries to avoid talking about his interests because, similar to how cats appeared in the E3 demo of Nintendogs after he said to analysts that he's taken up an interest in cats, his interests are often reflected in his future games.
* Some bonehead asked if Nintendo has started thinking about the 3DS's successor. The response was that Nintendo is always thinking making new things, and this continues now. They were thinking about 3DS six years ago.
Shigeru Miyamoto Has Been Swimming (andriasang.com, 07.01.2010)
Yes,
Miyamoto does get ideas for games from his real life experience
He came up with Zelda because he explored caves as a child.
He came up with Pikmin when he was interested in gardening
Nintendogs happened because he owns a dog.
He supports the idea of the Wii to make video games more appealing to everyday people who wouldn't touch video games such as his family.
and here he demonstrates Wii Music to a kindergarden class in Japan
