Quote from VideoGamer:
Christian issues group The Family Research Council has begun retaliating against Star Wars: The Old Republic for its plans to include same-sex relationships.
Speaking on his regular radio show, FRC president Tony Perkins lambasted BioWare's in-game relationships, stating "in a new Star Wars game, the biggest threat to the empire may be homosexual activists."
As reported by Opposing Views, Perkins went on to warn that the same-sex slant will "Star Warp" children.
"The new video game, Star Wars: The Old Republic, has added a special feature: gay relationships. BioWare, the company that developed the game, said it's launching a same-sex romance component to satisfy some complaints. That surprised a lot of gamers, since BioWare had made it clear in 2009 that 'gay' and 'lesbian' don't exist in the Star Wars universe.
"Since the announcement, homosexuals have been celebrating the news, but parents sure aren't. On the game's website, there are more than 300 pages of comments–a lot of them expressing anger that their kids will be exposed to this Star Warped way of thinking."
Perkins later encourages listeners to log on and speak up against BioWare.
Earlier last year Star Wars: The Old Republic senior community manager Stephen Reid stated the game would eventually incorporate same-sex relationships post-launch.

Fairly sure this is an easy reason why many MMORPG devs sidestep on allowing in-game relationships outside of heterosexual ones.
Still, this is
Star Wars... The Empire wasn't found until thousands of years later after the events of the Old Republic's settings. And if the biggest threat to the Empire (read: dark side) could be homosexual activists...

I don't even know where to start.
Why do (some/most?) Christians why homosexuality again?
So God made everyone in his image including homosexuals, but hates homosexuals?
That's total BS.

Because sexuality is a choice and is therefore unnatural, of course! 8D
And because an ancient book says so, too. And we all know that's totally legit and couldn't possibly be written by a human.

Read the article the other day, and it's full of the typical right wing religious nut job crap. The author's statements show he knows generally nothing about Star Wars itself, or the game that he is demonizing.
Most of the time they write these articles to cause a stir and polarize opinion. Much like the crap tabloids that you see in super markets.
The funny thing is that this feature isn't even implemented in the game yet, and there's no time table for when it will actually go in. Also there's no feature in game that lets you say the relationship status of other people. So even if they're banging all the possible people in the galaxy, the only person that knows is the person themselves. So nobody would be able to 'flaunt' their theoretical same sex relationship to offend others.

Since Christians SHOULD hate no one, only sin, what should be their mind set is for them to hate homosexuality but not homosexuals because hating homosexuals as fellow human beings would be a sin. They're supposed to hate the sin not the sinner, unfortunately most are either to ignorant or just refuse to follow it.

From what I've seen, most of them take certain things out of context but don't actually follow every rule in the bible. Sort of a "I use certain quotes when it benefits me but f*ck the rest" kind of thing.
What's funny is they're so ignorant that they assume that because they're Christians, they can actually do it without it being a sin. Because they spreading Gods word or some sh*t.

There's a real difference between those playing at being Christians and real Christians. Do not want to particular get into it now.

A'course.. the only unfortunate thing is the latter seems to be the majority. The term "real Christian" is also very loose; since it can mean something like those who follow Gods word, but are nonjudgmental and prejudiced. (though that would
technically be going against a large part of the bible) Or those who follow the bible to a T, but are still knowingly prejudiced.
But aye, that's a whole 'nother issue.

Actually, this is fairly wrong considering the story line for The Old Republic. The MMO is set 200 years after the events of Knights of the Old Republic II. The Sith return and took back Korriban from Jedi occupation in a massive scale invasion, and the Sith pretty much run the Empire (Their Emperor is of course a Sith, and you get to kill a Sith Lord who attempts to take control of the Empire in one of the level 50 Flashpoints [aka Raids])
