Weapon upgrades for meh?

There are a lot of upgrade paths on the wiki, but I don't know which is best for me.

My only high skills are WM and Crit, both at rank 4. Everything else is F. My dex is only at 44.

In general, there aren't really any upgrade sequences under 100 prof that are very good, so I wouldn't use prof as a deciding factor. If the durability is the problem, you might want to consider picking up a fresh weapon to work with.

With that said, the mace's 174 and 180 paths are decent for ones that maintain durability, but I'm not sure how well their balance would work out for you given your current dex. The 238 path is good for people with low dex since it boasts high max damage and high balance to boot. However, that - among other, better paths - would only leave your current mace with 2 durability, which may not be quite enough to get through an entire dungeon/mission depending on how much you use it. Personally, I'd just pick up a new stiff fierce mace, since they should still be fairly cheap and can be prof'd easily using the wisp or golden spider method.

For the gladius, most of the better upgrade paths will also subtract 5 durability, which would once again leave you with 2. It'd probably be better to start a new one and go for either the 300 or 270-2 (which I personally use), since higher dura means less frequent repairs. And at 2 dura, one failed repair would mean you'd have to get a new weapon anyway. You could opt for 135 or 140 to maintain durability, but you wouldn't be making the most of the high damage that gladii have to offer.

The 174 path seems solid. You seem like a newbie, so you'd benefit from high balance. If you spam wm this should serve you well. This weapon will be decent if you have at least 80 dex (what's your dex?).

174 / 42,500G

Perhaps lady luck will be on your side for the next few repairs. After you get stronger though, move to 95% repairsmen; Ferghus sucks and will chew up all of your weapons.

If your mace won't last another 100 prof then it doesn't really matter anyway.

I would have to agree with Arus, pick up a new Stiff Fierce mace, they shouldn't be too expensive.

You dex is rather low so I would suggest the 238 Path, 11-78 Damage, 73% Balance. The trade off is it has 0% critical however the stiff enchant on the mace + a stiff tail cap + Lucky title would push you to around 25% critical, it should suffice on the monsters your fighting. By the time you start killing shadow wizards you'll probably be using a better weapon anyway.

Just to clarify, 238 refers to the amount of proficiency needed as well as the "path". LINK Scroll down until you see the number "238" and follow those upgrade sequences.

If you really want to stick to your current mace, follow the path 174.

The stiff..Idk. I brought it like that because I wanted a cheap stiff weapon. I'm enjoying it so far. I have about a 50% crit stat with it equipped (along with my stiff tail cap). And since I'm at rank 4 crit, that means I can put out a lot of damage with this mace when I'm not using my dual glads/ego. So...

FIRST:
Dump the mace, get a new one, because 7 dura is horrible.
And stop repairing at ferghus or something, that's weapon abuse.
Fierce is a bad suffix imo. Raven is good. Stiff is okay.
Same with the gladius.

Mace: 238 (11-78, Crit 0, Balance 73, Durability -5)
239 (6-74, Crit 0, Balance 59, Durability -5)
Gladius: 230 (53-62, Crit 0, Balance 59, Durability -5)
