Can anyone describe How blaster karok actually works im still a bit fuzzy on it even though I am one now but yeah.. is the only way you can build a blaster gauge with dodging?/weaving
is the blaster gauge technically a confusing way of saying what color his arm glows?
anyone got any specified condensed information (so people don't have to read 50 pages of meaningless text to find info), I've tried finding a refined version myself with google with no avail..
it would prob help a few people who were gonna be a blaster karok

Cestus/Blaster Karok has two ways of building "gauge".
1. Weaving
2. Shock Absorb (it still works with Cestus!)
The level of this gauge is indicated by the colour of the glow. Green is Lv. 1 and Red is Lv. 2. I think Blue is Lv. 3, but my Karok is fairly low leveled so I don't have the skill unlocked.
That's pretty much it. It's fairly simple.

That.
And different gauge levels lets you activate different buffs if you press E after any smash, excluding Sprint Smash and Big Bang. Level 1 gets you Terror Rush, 2 gets you Crushing Strike, 3 gets you Destroyer. You don't have a choice in which buff activates outside of the gauge level you have.

As an extension
Terror Rush is a 5% boost to attack speed, essentially 10 free speed.
Crushing Strike is a 500 attack boost, 500 free attack.
Destroyer is a 100% crit chance, essentially ramping your DPS up.
Each buff has a 30 second duration at Rank F, and you gain 6 seconds per rank. Cycling through which level of blast you use should allow you to keep multiple buffs up at the same time.

All of these things go up with rank. Terror Rush gains more attack speed as it ranks and Crushing Strikes gains more attack as it ranks.
Overall, Blaster is very fun and it seems to have enormous frames for weaving/absorb shock... however, they only work at very specific points in combos. This is a class that will only become more and more fun with experience, but we'll just have to see how the DPS is.
So far, at level 26, the knockdown feels good to me. I feel like things are falling over very frequently, much moreso than they would with my Lann and certainly more than my Evie. Seems like things get knocked down more than they did with my pillar, too. Might be up there with Fiona, or maybe it's just bosses being easier at first.

I just have one question regarding, weaving and absorb shock. Which one is actually used? Judging from the description of weaving it sounds like a replacement to absorb shock, if not, I'm assuming weaving attack may only be used after weaving and not absorb shock.

Both work.
I have trouble using Absorb Shock with Cestus, but I know it works for sure. Weaving counts as a seperate type of dodge, outside of Absorb Shock (as shown by not losing then recovering HP). Why it's easy to get confused is that Pillar Karok's roll counts as an attack, meaning it triggers Abosrb Shock, which Weaving does not. However you have access to both Weave and AS with Cestus.
Weaving Attack can't be used out of Absorb Shock though (as you can only trigger Absorb shock via using a Normal or Smash attack), it's similar to Double Crescent in that regard.
If you want to test AS, just try doing the single L attack just before an enemy hits you. It's actually a pretty decent way to get through single hits (and it lets you do more damage + Blast for a buff).

Oh, so space is weaving, attacking is AS, that makes sense now. Thanks for clearing things up. Sounds like weaving has longer frames as well, which should be useful.

It works well for everything imo, because after you do the punch, you can weave if you need to. I've heard both the full punch and weaving have
full invincibility frames... and from playing around a bit, it does feel like it. I've gotten hit while "recovering" from weaving it still got absorb shocked.
It's worth noting that weaving passes through things, much like blink. It also only requires a small amount of stamina.

Okay, so I've played around with cestus for a while. Here's my explanation on its mechanics.
Obviously, weaving can cancel all of his moves, even the blaster.
You can weave through small things, not so much with larger things.
Shock Absorb still works, but only with the first normal punch.
Apparently, you can shock absorb with a weaving attack as well, but it doesn't seem to work for me. I just take damage without flinching.
Every time you tank a hit with Shock Absorb or Weaving, your blaster gains one blaster level.
Tanking multiple hits with the same Shock Absorb or Weaving animation does not level up your blaster any more than just once.
The blaster is used after a smash attack by pressing the grab button. You can do it after a Weaving Attack at rank A as well. Doesn't work with sprint smash.
Level one is a green aura and grants Terror Rush, which gives 5% more attack speed for 30 seconds at Rank F. Each rank up gives an additional 1% attack speed and 6 seconds.
Level two is a red aura and grants Crushing Strike, which gives 500 more ATT for 30 seconds at rank F. Each rank up gives 140 more ATT and 6 seconds.
Level three is a blue aura and grants Destroyer, which gives 100% chance at a critical with the next smash, blaster, or big bang within 30 seconds at rank F. Each rank up extends the time to use Destroyer by 6 seconds.

You can actually use Sprint Smash to activate Shock Absorb. I've heard the second Normal attack is able to SA.
Saw the first in action, the Karok told me the second.
Also Blast seems to be a relavitely slow Weave cancel. From what I've seen anyways. I'd save Blast for triggering a buff, and not use it for damage.

Notice the resemblance?

I believe Weaving only starts after an attack is over... so it doesn't really cancel it at all. Maybe I'm wrong, I only tested it with one attack a while ago and haven't played Blaster much.

Err, well... that's what a cancel is, much like in a fighting game. Would you rather wait until the whole attack animation is over to do another move?
If you notice how the camera slightly zooms in when you do a smash attack, you'll know that you cancelled your smash into weaving if the camera doesn't zoom back out. It zooms back out when you're done attacking.

That's not what I meant. I meant that it seems like it waits until the entire attack animation is over before it goes through, at least from when I tried it. I remember it doing nothing but queuing up a weave.

Well, I'll have to test it. I only just briefly noticed it while I was doing something, so I could very well be wrong.
