You still need to spend a lot of time training life skills to be able to do decent damage unlike with Melee and magic :<
That's kind of my point, you don't. Sure it'll take you longer to kill....but you'll be just as safe doing it as if you had half your damage. You don't even need to r1 every life skill in order to get to a good dex lvl, r9 or r5 is enough. It's unpleasant but little more than a novelty since you can still do most everything with piddly damage.
In addition, bows get a lot more hits in than melee does. Melee has a set combo before having to def/counter and can't spam smash. An archer can AR indefinitely or just arrow spam. They can also magnum spam thus applying their numerically lower damage much more often. Bows are cheap to repair and arrows require negligible funds so there's little point in trying to conserve them.

I can picture myself having easily 350 damage with a warhammer with these new skills. Melee might become best DPS again :D...

thats what sucks about it.
completely unusable by itself now.
My question was, did G13 remove that cooldown just as they did with Crash Shot's cooldown?

I've got a question. Does g13 have sm style difficulties in which you're forced to do quests in fixed difficulties according to your total?

I never use Defense or Counter. Melee combos including Smash can be indefinite thanks to pets, walls, and/or chaining combos through a magic bolt.
Also, there's Final Hit and Windmill spam which are by nature pretty infinite, while some weapons like Broadswords and Dragon Blades are very easy on repair costs, without the need for ammo.

yes the quests are divided into difficulties.
*random fact: Elite missions require total lv of 1. it just needs a pass just like wine mission

guess that eliminates the whole spamming thing.

All of g13s stuff is done on a Rectangular stage, all of g13 is your character taking part in the play of hamlet, for most of act 1 your fights on stage just consist of you helping the guards protect the border from snow trolls, snow zombies, ice worms and prison ghost zombies?

1. Crash shot fails. The range is awesome but the maximum damage modifier ranges from 150% to 260%.
2. Range deals awful damage. While dexterity is common, ranged weapon damage maxes at around 120. Melee weapon damage maxes at around 260 (160+100).
3. Who cares about safety? We miss and we die.
4. All common melee and magic attacks are high damage, single blows. Arrow revolver can stun (1) enemy if passive defense doesn't activate. Since all we can do is spam, it activates all the time.
5. We have fail aoe attacks. Melée/magic can one-shot a whole room, we have to target each enemy.
Do us a favor and use ranged attacks outside of pvp to form a better understanding instead of just bashing it. Come g13 range has the least masteries and skills of any class.
Melée (4) Combat, sword, axe, blunt
Magic (6) Magic, bolt, bolt composer, fire, ice, lightning
Alchemy (5) Alchemy, fire, water, wind, earth
Range: (1) Range

This.
It really becomes more and more evident when you reach higher levels of play too. Bows are practically moot (save Wing Bow) at the HM level since they tend to draw the majority of power from criticals. Range only has uses in middle-tiered dungeons and PvP, really.
Regarding costs of potions and repairs, when I break out the Low-HP gear I really don't spend much at all. A couple potions is enough to recover from a massive hit, and two charges from Healing will fix any health spent on WM.

Elven ranged combat is Much better than human ranged combat (pve). While ranged combat is generally underpowered, the burst dps of magnum shot and final shot allow elves to (at least) dominate the single target dps field. Human ranged combat just fails nowadays, unless you're Nari.
