Hey, excuse the title, I was feeling in a creative mood.
So, I've been playing Vindictus EU for, I think about a week now and I'm close approaching level 61 (hit 59 a hour or so before posting this) and was wondering about what armour set and weapons to get.
I've stuck with playing as Sword-Lann and I think I've gathered that the bread and butter of gear seems to be Dark Crest Set + Vanquishers for them. I've heard of the Ingkells, Swift and Black Hammer sets, but I'm a little lost as to which of the 4 sets to get.
Apparently, Dark Crest is the cheapest for the most part and Black Hammer seems to have the best stats but I have no idea where Ingkells and Swift comes in and what they're better suited to/for.
Cash-Wise, I have 1.2kk which will only continue to increase as I get more drops n' stuff.
After burning through a lot of cash to get Sinister Half Plate and then Queen's Glory after that, I've settled on using:
Armour: Laghodessa Set +1 (Doesn't seem like there are (m)any other sets with AGI as good as this)
Weapons: Ivory Twin swords +7 (Next step to get Vanquishers?)
Thanks for reading,
Solus.

I'll help you out with any vindictus Sword Lann questions, I myself am a struggling sword Lann, due to needing lots of skill to play as Lann.
The best set overall so far is Ingkells glove and boots, and blackhammer helmet, shirt, and leg armor, welcome to the nation, and if you come across any sentinel scrolls I'll buy them.

Mello, he's playing on EU. I don't think you're ever getting Sentinels from him.
Dark Crest isn't that good for it's price, considering that the helmet usually ends up at a silly price. The above set priortizes Defence. What happens is that most people have found that using Lv. 61 gears in a format that mixes them to be most effective.
This usually takes the form of 3/2 splits. Usually with Helm/Tunic/Greaves and Gloves/Boots.
There is no "best" set, just ones that optimize certain stats. Popular ones are...
3 Black Hammer / 2 Swift for a nice mix.
3 Swift / 2 Ingkells for more Defence.
3 Ingkells / 2 Lorica (not sure on this) for even more Defence.
And so on. I don't know most sets, so I'll wait for Foreignreign or someone else to list them.

Thanks for the Welcome :3
It seems the EU version is drastically different from the other two regions' versions, just to name a couple; being able to crit without Gliding. (which is a shame because I love the look of Dark Crest and now I have no reason to wear it since the WIL is probably the only reason to wear it ><...) Plus, a lot of the spear skills have been changed too, Fury Infusion is now a dodge-attack that gets invincibility frames from however highly ranked the user's Slip Dash is (I think)... And I believe on the other versions it's a crit buff, right? We don't have Liberate either.
So yeah, a lot is different which sucks because a lot of the tips and how-to's I picked up things from were from a mix of the American version and the EU, so when I went to learn about Lann, a lot of things seemed to be contradicting and differ from each other which threw me off a bit, so I couldn't understand why certain things were different in what seemed like the same game, at the time, that was until I found out into the mid-late 40's that there were multiple changes for each of the regions' game versions, most likely because the EU bunch are a fair bit behind and beign developed last, we don't even have Karok, Thor, Ingkells, Dreamwalker etc. yet Korea already has Kai ._.
Getting back to the gear aspect, after researching a little, with what we have available, the BH Helm/Mail/Greaves + Swift Gauntlets/Boots mix seems to be the way most people go, having said that, I've done a few calculations and the set doesn't come cheap, which is to be expected as it's not a Premium Rookie set or anything, so I may just buy the Dark Crest Set to start out with and then progress onto the BH/Swift Set.
The skills part isn't troubling me that much although I've heard from a few Lanns that it's personal preference and skills are pretty much prioritised on your playstyle, e.g. I've seen a lot of Lanns use the jump smash to allow them to get off Gliding, which only makes me giggle when they get flung across the room and my Slip Dash-Double Crescent-Gliding allow me to dodge the boss' attack and get some damage in, but I tend to use a different more "Solo-Friendly" approach, but I don't know if taking on a Soloing style of play so early is such a good idea; ideas thoughts?
But! It'd be nice to get another person's perspective on what skills you're focusing/prioritising.
These are the skills I have Maxed (as of the time of posting):
Slip Dash,
Smash Mastery,
Critical Hit,
Battle Respiration.
I'm working on getting Gliding Fury (Currently Rank 8) maxed, followed up by either Strength mastery or Agility Mastery, probably AGI mastery because I find myself running out of stamina, so the stamina regen from AGI should help out a bit. After that, I'll have to start figuring out what I want to put AP into.

Well definitely get gliding fury maxed out, and lightning fury. LF isn't quite as good for swords as it is for spears, due to the lack of extra crit and fury infusion, but it's still a very nice skill. If you have the skill released already, I'd say max out Smash: Pummel Storm (sounds like you're not to the update that releases it though). And as for AGI, I've heard it doesn't have a noticeable effect on stamina regeneration, so you might want to rank your armor mastery so you can not be a glass cannon.

Well, unfortunately, I've had my level 62 banned recently for what I can only describe as playing legit. I stupidly tried to use cheat engine with Vindictus, but it didn't even work (and I knew it wouldn't because Cheat Engine sucks mushy eggs for hacking well-built MMORPGs), so honestly speaking I never actually hacked, I attempted to but it didn't work, even though I knew it wouldn't work in the first place, but I still got banned for not hacking..? Nice going Nexon...
Anyway, I'm going spears this time round, just seems that with me playing most of my battles solo and speed running most of (if not all) the battles up to like 50-ish since all the mats that drop you can buy anyway so you're just wasting time by stopping to get the evil cores, it'll be easier to clear the few groups of trash mobs per level that I have to kill to get rid of the barriers and with swords theres not many skills/moves that cover a lot of ground where-as hurricane, does.
