Okay, so my group for a school project is raising money to help give people in the city who currently don't, an opportunity to get an education. We're doing a raffle, so we need gift card ideas. So, what are some good stores that sell gift cards? Thank you.

Probably the best way to do it is to buy Visa/American Express Gift Cards, if you guys are doing higher-valued gift cards.
Otherwise, the last time I stopped by CVS, they were selling a 3-pack of iTunes gift cards valued at $30 (so three $10 gift cards).
Depends on what kinds of gift cards you're raffling off, but the ones above are a good bet.

I wouldn't buy pre paid credit cards. I would get cards that are only for a specific place. You don't want people using their money for booze or something. I would suggest a grocery store nearby. That way the family can save their own money while having gift cards to buy food. A Walmart gift card would be the best probably since they sell clothing, food, home appliances, etc.
I wouldn't buy an iTunes card either IMO. There could be a chance the family doesn't own an iPod or even have computer/internet.

True, but the chances of that are slim and if they don't want it, they can either not enter or give it to someone else.
I'm honestly a bit confused as to whether he means gift cards for the "city kids", or gift cards for the people entering the raffle. I thought he was talking about the kids in his school entering the raffle, so I went with that...otherwise, i'd go with your suggestion.

Oh.. Yea now I'm confused too..
I'd defiantly go with Claudia if it's for students in your school.

'Cause the way I was thinking was like;
Kids at his school pay for raffle -> kids get gift cards -> money from raffle goes to inner-city school
The other way of thinking about it is;
Inner-city kids enter raffle -> might win gift cards?
The second one is definitely more depressing, though. ;_;

First one's right, but now we gotta buy something from the inner city schools instead of gift cards and making a load of money for them.

I prefer pre-paid credit cards since cards for certain stores really limit you. We got a pre-paid gift card from our neighbors the other day and it works like a charm. The fees are pretty decent for either party. (though the only fee we'd get is if we lost the card + regular taxes)
