My blood has a very high level of hemoglobin, so I usually try to donate every few months.
It's O+, which may not be as valuable as O-, but I can't really complain. :P

I donated in high school to help this girls senior project. Figured out I'm A+

Neither my Mom or I can give blood due to our veins being too small. It's possible, but far too time-consuming so we tend not to even bother since there's a 95% chance of us getting turned away.
I have no clue what my blood type is, though.

Let's see, last time I gave blood was November I think.
I can give blood again soonish when the school brings the people here again.
Anyway, I learned my blood type is O- and I did an aphresis. I was cold as hell, but it was better for those that need my blood.

I wanted to donate blood! Our school does a blood drive for students once or twice a year and this year was the first time I could do it. (16 w/ parental consent)
But I wasn't allowed to. Donors have to weigh at least 110 pounds.
I was so disappointed, because I had been waiting for years to do so. It's probably better that they didn't let me anyways because even if I made the cutoff, i'd lose waaaay too much blood. (since smaller people generally have less units of blood)
/sob

this. I'm trying to gain weight and I'm pretty close to 110. Except I'm trying to give plasma because they pay you for that kinda stuff, about $60 if you donate twice a week where I live
that would be really useful right about now

I think for plasma (or was it platelets?) you have to be at least 5' 2" or 5' 3" or something like that.
...OBVIOUSLY I'M 5' 1".
I can certainly understand the requirements, but it makes me feel sad because I want to give ;_;.
