If I try using it the speakers buzz, whether they're on or off.
It's not a simple "don't talk while near your computer" problem because I could be all the way across my house and leave my phone there, walk back towards my computer and the buzzing will still be happening.
It only happens when I start the call though, it's not constant.

DSL or no?
Does it happen when you unplug the speaker power but keep the audio cable plugged in?

Do you have the DSL filters on the line that phone is plugged into?
Are you using a modem, router, or modem+router (gateway)?
If a router/gateway, are you hooked in wired or wireless?

What about the filters? Pretty important to segregate the DSL signals from the phone signals. They look like this.

And the phone's line should hook into a filter and then the filter hooks into the wall.

You need a filter for your line. Call your telephone company and see if they can get you one. It's just a cheap little box thingy about the size of an iPod.

If they won't send you one, see if you can order one online, don't end up paying $15 to radioshack or something for a $3 part.

I almost bought one for $9 today, but I just checked amazon and they sell them for a cent + $3 for shipping

Yeah, like I say, your phone company would probably just give them to you for free lol.

I did it when they came down to look at something or other, and they just gave me like 4 of them.
