Hey, I'm looking for a good indie game that's worth buying and playing, or any game for that matter. One that I can get well-hooked on.
I've been playing Minecraft a lot, but I'm interested to see what else there is. I read and heard and seen that Bastion is real good, and I've also seen this game called Aquaria that looks nice.
There's also this one called Blockland, which I guess is an Indie game. I use to play it, and it's a great game, but I lost the key for it, and I don't want to pay money for a game that I have already paid for when Minecraft offers all kinds of cool things, building and other-wise.
However, there was some advantages Blockland had in some areas. It was slicker in style and lagged a lot less. It was easier to find and join servers, and it was easier to install mods (called add-ons in Blockland).
I'm not gonna get into details, but both games are good in their own ways.
I feel Minecraft is a better game for seeing great builds, being a part of a good community, exploring and adventuring, as well as building unique mechanical things using Redstone and clever structures.
Blockland is better for quickly joining servers and getting into action with other people. In a matter of seconds, I can almost always find a good server, and a decent variety of them, at that: Freebuild, RP (City, Jail, Medieval, etc.), FPS shoot out, battlefield, fort wars, races, survival obstacle courses (Runners vs Reapers), zombie survival and more!
In Minecraft, it isn't quite as quick and easy, and there tends to be more lag (on my comp).
But enough of that. Got any good suggestions for a game or website?

Cave Story is always a nice choice to start out with. A good and free indie game.
Have you considered
Terraria if you're into sandbox, building games?
Steam has a load of indie games in its catalog.
Totalhalibut has a first impression video series that mainly focuses on indie games.

I actually own Terraria. It's a good game and is a lot more dungeon-crawling and combat-oriented than Minecraft. Still, I like Minecraft more, even though I find Terraria easier to just pick up and play than Minecraft.
I'll look into the links you've shown me. I've actually tried playing Cave Story once. It's a cool game with a good story, but I never finished it.
I also remember another addicting free Indie game called Spelunky.

I loved blockland as a child. I never actually bought the game so I was stuck with the lame demo. You learn to be really creative when you only have 100 blocks to build with.

Hm. Maybe I should try playing the demo to learn some creativity.
Yep, blockland was a good game. The community is hilarious, but I don't remember having many great experiences with the community.

Aquaria's good
Sequence is pretty fun, basically a rhythm game that's uses it as a combat mechanic
Jamestown is a fun bullet hell but the difficult is made for multiplayer
World of goo's fun and fast paced
And Yet it Moves is interesting but if you can't get into it, it'll only provide a few hours of fun
Amnesia's an interesting horror game that's twisted
Bastion's a RPG with a decent story
Cave story has great platforming and story, and its freeware
Orcs Must Die is hilarious since you see how your trap setup kill them
Reccetear's a funny doujin game that makes fun of jRPGs, but it's grindish

Cave Story. It's a really good game with awesome music and I like the art style. Best part is the Outer Wall where "Moonsong" plays.
Amnesia the Dark Descent. One of my obsessions. It's got a ton of visual effects (watery screen based on how sane you are), a ton of horror elements (Grunt chases,Kaernk) and the audio/music is superb. A ton of people make custom stories for it and there's the Justine expansion, so it's not like one of those games where once you finish, there's nothing really to do after that except play it again.

Bastion is a great amazing game, you should get it.

Also recommend, I played probably 20 minutes of it and loved it.
Also try out The Binding of Isaac, it's a Rougelike Action RPG game. Hard, fun and satisfying.
Also check out the Frozenbyte collection, 3 indie games for 15 dollars and all of them are good too.
And here's a bundle coming out tomorrow

Try
Iji, it's got a great story, great gameplay mechanics, and the story changes depending on how you play the game. By different, I mean by doing certain events or even playing the whole game without killing anything.
I've spent at least 24 hours on it to see all the scenes and get all the secrets.

I like the suggestions so far, even though some I most likely can't play because of my ****ty comp, such as Orcs Must Die and Amnesia.
There's this one game that had a really interesting story, but I couldn't get into the combat system. I was called "The Spirit Engine 2".

Since Bastion was tossed around enough, I'll throw a recommendation for Aquaria. It has a large world and highly exploration based. It is a metroidvania underwater. It is easily my favorite indie game behind Bastion to date.
I would also recommend Spelunky. It is a free game made by the same creator of Aquaria. Every level in Spelunky is randomly generated and is a rogue-like platformer. It can also be quite frustrating as you can die very easily. I sunk many hours at home and in class to that game, easily one of my favorites.
