He got lucky. Some big time producer saw him on youtube (lol) and contacted him. Anyways, personally, I think he sounds okay, not great, but considering that all artists' voices are digitally mastered, I assume he's must be pretty crap.

After puberty kicked in, he didn't sound quite so annoying, but still, there is absolutely no creativity in his videos whatsoever.
