This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

Now you can check out new threads posted on Mabination via twitter. Not all sections are included in order to keep it clean, the whole "Town Square" and the "Ma/b/ination" (spam) are excluded from twitter, most everything else should show up.
Link:
http://twitter.com/Mabination
This will serve 2 purposes:
1) Increase visibility of mabination on the interwebs, especially with search engines.
2) Any of you who make use of twitter can now check out what's going on with your favorite twitter viewing methods, such as apps or mobile devices.
Speaking of mobile devices, mabination will be mobile-friendly in the coming weeks, so you can come spam with us while on the go (or stuck in a boring class).

Why don't we just make a facebook and a myspace and a digg and all whatnots while we're at it.

Not familiar with facebook Dx
If it has an API to allow automated updates like twitter has then it's actually a good idea. Only problem with FB is it seems everything is always private or needs some kind of login, no good for search engines. Myspace isn't popular anymore compared to FB/twitter. Digg doesn't need an website-specific account, there's a little button bellow every post, along with a few others, so people can share the link.

Only bad thing is I don't have any of these fancy mobile devices, never really cared for them. So I can't test anything Dx
When the time comes i'll have to hijack a few people with things like iphone and psps and whatever else that's popular with the youngins these days.

I can do the PSP testing. There is a plugin for custom firmware that lets me take screenshots.

Actually curious to know what it looks like right now on a mobile device Dx
If anyone can take screenshots or photos of their screens it would help. I know some mobile devices just shrink everything down so you can see, making it horribly difficult to read, while others make you scroll like crazy to see everything.

I can tell you, it was horrible on mabiguru. I had to scroll left and right to read a sentence, and pics took forever to load. If I disabled pics then the reputation bars would come up in these lines that took up half the page. Just something to think about.

I can tell from using my Nokia XpressMusic 5800 the site feels lighter compared to guru, my cellphone has little memory so it was prone to crashing over there.
Also, about facebook, it's only set to private if you specify it. Otherwise, anyone can see what you post.
