MITx: MIT’s new online learning initiative

  They are launching the Circuits and Electronics course on 5 March.

  "Students will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their mastery of the material and earn a certificate from MITx."
  
  Prereqs: In order to succeed in this course, you must have taken an AP level physics course in electricity and magnetism. You must know basic calculus and linear algebra and have some background in differential equations.
  
  I think I'll take this up, so with this I'm taking 7 engineering classes this semester. Should be fun.

  your courses are taught by professors, the school pays you for being involved in science competitions, you can conduct lab research and if you did something awesome, present your stuff at conferences.
  these things help stand out
  The school has good connections with MIT, Caltech and other sciencey schools
