I have 3 $10 NX Cards (or rather Karma Koin) that are just sitting on my desk thing, and I'm at the moment not going to use them, so I'm curious as to how many of you would be interested in participating in a Smash Bros. Brawl tournament, with these NX cards as prizes? I'm thinking of having just a simple 1v1 tournament, where rules and banned item lists are determined beforehand (personally, I'd like to different rules/banned items for each match, determined by the two participants of that certain match, but I'll be fine with some universal rules).
I might also have a banned character list, where each participant will list three characters that they want banned from the tournament, where the first listed character is worth 3 points, the second is worth 2 points, and the third choice getting 1 point, and the 3 or 5 characters are banned from the tournament, so as to hopefully eliminate any character that people generally consider broken. Or if people rather, not have a banned character list or only ban the two top tiers (meaning Meta-Knight, Diddy Kong, Snake and Falco).
And hopefully, I can have two brackets, the main bracket, as well as a loser's bracket, where the people who lost in the first round, most likely because they aren't as skilled at the game compared to others, can still have a chance to be able to win. Hopefully this will give me a little more people willing to participate, even if they know that they're not that good at the game.
But right now, I just want to see if I should even be willing to hold a tournament. If there's not enough interest (I'm looking for at least 16 people willing to participate, so it can have an even 4 rounds without any byes, and the loser's bracket can get 3 rounds in), then I won't bother with holding the tournament for an actual prize and instead just hold the tournament just for fun as a community thing to become friendlier with each other.
So please vote yes if you are interested in it, even if you decide later that you don't want to. Like I said, I'm just looking for people interested to see if having a tournament is worth handing out a prize right now, and I don't even have anything set in stone yet. Once I see that there's enough interest for the tournament, I'll make a more official tournament thread in the event section of the site.

I can bet that Deitylight and Milk would be up for this. Me, I haven't played Brawl in a long time (Still have my N64 plugged up :thumb:). There's that and the fact that wifi lag is ridiculous for me x_x. . .

Im so game for this :D
I personally think that there is no need to ban characters. Certain Maps can be chosen in order to counter certain characters.
Oh Can you add more detail on what maps are considered legal in this tournament? Don't want people picking maps like
The old super mario bros stage and such.
Edit: Hasn't played in like a year but im sure its just like riding a bick.

Oh. So this is based off the Wii Wifi thingy in Brawl right?
/total noob
In any case, I'll be up for it. I'm not all that great - but it'll be fun

As I said, this thread is mostly to see if there's enough interest to bother with having a prize for winning or not, or even bothering to host one to begin with (though at this point, there will probably be a tournament if just for fun and glory, and possible forum rewards like gold or a pet). All the finer details and such can be made when I make the official thread about it. But in the end, I want something generally agreed upon between combatants so that there won't be any (serious) complaining once the tournament arives.
And I'll try to record this, so I do know that one rule is that the match has to allow spectators, even if it's just for me to be on to record the match. Of course, I also have to find out if I can record the matches from my Wii without having to invest in a capture card, since I don't think I'll be doing much recording outside of the tournament, so dropping a $100 doesn't really seem worth it in the end.

I'm up for this but I hope it starts at a good time for everyone.
I'm shot in between Ike or Ganondorf but since there are more Ikes than Ganondorfs I'm going Ganon if this tournament initates.

I'm very interested. Just hope depending on the time I get the Wii.
Also, I don't care much for a prize, just playing against people who aren't my sisters would be enough for me.

Online is indeed kinda bad but sometime you can get great matches without much lag and derping. I'd totally be up for it if I still had brawl but I don't D:

1v1 Matches usually have little to no lag.
