Anthros. Bleh.

  AP Art concentration is anthros of my friends. My teacher doesn't understand that they're not supposed to be overtly human and keeps complaining that you can't tell who they are. To me it doesn't matter. The friends are just the base of the idea.

  And I don't agree with your art teacher. Can't tell who they are? The characterization in these images are clear. If I knew who these people were, I'd probably recognize their personalities drawn into the images when I look at it.

  It does. Backgrounds bore the hell out of me, so I've moved to doing more portraity portraits instead. Pretty much just the face. Feels so much better. I'm considering going back in and fixing those backgrounds that I already have, I just have no motivation most of the time because the class kind of demands that I put all my attention into the current piece. I did manage to do a good landscape once, but I've found it hard to combine the two (good portraits and good landscapes) just because of lack of time really. Thank you for the input.

  You get it! :D He doesn't. He wants me to make it look like them. They look like how they look on the inside. :3
  
  Jenna has a broken horn because she has a hard life. (Or used to before she turned 18. :P) Her hair and earrings are the same too. Her pose is kind of representative of her personality. Just a bit sassy. She's a gazelle because to strangers she seems quite shy.
  
  Lindsay is a kangaroo because she's bouncy and happy-go-lucky and bubbly and all. Her hair and eyes are the same as her, her face and body shape inspired by her own face and body shape as well as the kangaroo's.

  Its sad that your teacher didn't catch it. I hope he doesn't penalize your grade for it or anything.

  ^ It's possible that he will, it's just like a political science teacher who badly grades a paper because he/she doesn't agree with the views.

  He penalizes my grade a bit in the "concentration cohesiveness" section of the rubric and the "use of media" section. He wants me to use photoshop like photoshop more, not like a painting tool. It annoys me. The point of a concentration is for it to be whatever I want to do based on one theme. The key word being "I." He doesn't take off that many points, though, I still have an A in the class.
