Okay so this Saturday I'm off on my first plane ride. Going to be going to Spain for a week.
From what I heard though, it's going to be nearly morning when I arrive so I guess I'll need to sleep on the plane. What's the easiest way to do that?
I'm such a newbie at this. I've gotten some advice from my sister and some from my co-worker who suggested drugging me with some motion sickness medicine to make me fall asleep. Not so sure if that's a good idea though...
I guess I can bring my iPod on board and my laptop. Not sure what I'll do on the laptop though :/

I never have a hard time sleeping on planes!
The roaring of the engines is sorta soothing, actually.

Buy something to fucking chew on. Get Mentos or gum or something. You're ears are going to start popping from the altitude without anything to chew on.

Good idea^^^^
But like, I don't remember ever like, having my ears being popped really hurt to the point where it's unbearable, though.

Well of course not, it's just a pain in the ass.

I know it really bothers some people though, which is why he should chew anyways.
Are you scared of flying, Roy?

Don't know. I used to afraid of heights. But I got over that fear while back. I'll try to bring some gum on board.

something to chew on is a good idea (although just doing a chewing motion will do the job). As for sleeping... you'll probably find it hard NOT to after an hour or so. My final bit of advice is to get as much vitamin C into your system as possible, Not only are you sitting next to people for hours, who knows what the person sitting in the chair before you had, and not to mention the closed air conditioning system (if someone coughs, it most certainly is going through the vents).

Going to Spain for a week? How nice. I remember when I went to Spain~
International flights are somewhat of a pain. Since this is your first time flying, some gum to chew like others mentioned is good.
Maybe bring some dry snacks for food as well, just be sure all your carry-ons are in accordance to the airplane rules/policy.
Sleeping wasn't really that big of a deal, in my flight they reduced the lighting in the plane and gave out blankets and such.
Just be sure not to tilt your seat too far back and be sure to use the restroom before you get on the plane. Nothing is worse than trying to get up and use the restroom when everyone around you is sleeping -.-
Also, adjust your seating position frequently while you are awake. If you can stand up and walk around a bit, that's even better.
If you stay in the same sitting position for too long - you'll probably develop pains all over your body. When I went back home to Florida from Spain, my tailbone was hurting so badly for a good day. It was hard to sit on stuff .... no bueno T_T
But, most importantly enjoy yourself. Take pictures!
Also, be sure to try tortilla espanola if you can. It's a common tapas dish served in Spain.
It's so delicious, I had it like a good 5 times :awesome:

If you're the kind of person that has trouble sleeping in like cars, take a sleeping pill or some melatonin. Preferably, take some before getting on the plane.

If you see a row with nobody on it, claim it for yourself.

There's nothing to fear, but it's just so boring.
