More control options?

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. On this, I'm mainly looking at Switch Attack Mode and Open/Close Skill Slot.

I know these are for the Gamepad Mode (which I feel is really no different from Mouse mode), but I don't really know how each of the controls work. It's stupid how they have the name of some of the controls get cut off by "..."s.

I'm guessing this was mainly for the old Staff Evie.

I believe Tab used to switch the highlighted party member, which would retarget who your healing runes would target. (Switch Attack Mode)
I'm guessing Open/Close Skill Slot was for them to manage something similar to the alchemy box. (Open/Close Skill Slot)

I lack any knowledge of gamepad mode, but I'm guessing the whole idea of a "Ring command" means that it brings up a way to select an action, similar to how Staff Evie's focus works. I'm probably very wrong about this though.
