I see. Having naval control is a powerful thing to have. Control the seas and you effectively control trade. Would also help with the problem of the Samalii Pirates or w/e they are called.
I was in that area shortly after the U.S. retaliated against those pirates. Trust me, the greatest weapon at our disposal is diplomacy.

These things are really cool feats of technology and it's awesome to see them brought into the real world instead of just being in the realm of sci fi. Whenever I happen to see railguns brought up though, I can't help but remember how Metal Gear REX had one mounted on it, for launching a nuclear warhead...
Also, on anti matter, though it can be produced by us, it's not just the cost that stops it from being synthesized, it's the fact that creating it takes way too much time. Even with current technology, it would take thousands if not more years to make an amount that can level a single city. Hydrogen bombs are cheaper.

Yeah, cool SciFi stuff is impractical. I mean, think of the power costs for all that magnetism; that's why team Rocket always tries to steal that pikachu <.<
Yes, H-Bombs are teh shizz:

And when did people start producing antimatter? There's no way to handle it, and I'm pretty sure we just find it lying around?

They tried to produce anti-hydrogen by colliding hydrogen atoms using matter accellerator with limited success, an storing them using electro-magnetic field.
