Simple MoBo question.

So as I was searching for a new motherboard that would of worked for my new computer with the current memory that's in the cart I realized that newegg would list some memory like this

Memory Standard: DDR3 800/1066/1333/1600 (OC)/1800 (OC)/2133 (OC)

OC means overclock right?

So how would that work?
Would it work if you just stick in the memory or do you have to do something to the motherboard so it can read the memory?

In simple terms, it means the motherboard is able to overclock itself to support those speeds of RAM. You'll also need to buy high speed RAM for that, though.
I recommend that you ignore the OC stuff and stick to 1333, as it'll be cheaper and there will be far less chance for complications. If you find a good deal on 1600 RAM and feel adventurous, you can get that and try to overclock.
Just remember that for gaming, unless you're going to build a system based on AMD's APU "CPU", the performance benefits from upgrading to 1600 will be very small.

So does it automatically overclock itself or do you need to do it manually?

I'm just trying to build a cheap gaming computer that can last me awhile.
I'm pretty much set all I need is a motherboard and some money.

Hm, I haven't gone shopping for PC parts for a year now. And last I remember, the good cheap motherboards are usually Gigabyte. Just make sure it matches your CPU/Memory needs.

You need to specify the speed you want the memory to work at in the motherboard BIOS.
For more advanced overclocks, you also need to play with memory timings and voltage. I do not recommend the latter.
