Team Fortress 2 crashing/freezing on server menu

Team fortress 2 for me has been unable to load any server/make a local server without completely freezing. I have completely re-installed the game, steam, and closed all other non-essential programs. It still refuses to work and simply freezes as soon as I try to open the server list/make a map using the console. Any support/advice would be appreciated at this point.

I also submitted this as a ticket to Steam support, but it's been going on for about 3 months now.
