Basically, my issue is that right now, my computer will NOT connect to any sort of network unless
it is with my router at my house. It doesn't work at my friend's house, it doesn't work at any sort of public venue, and it isn't working at the hotel that I am right now residing in.
:T_T:
It's a Toshiba Satellite L305D with Vista.
I have tried diagnosing the problem and all the computer ever says is basically,
"Ohai thar I've tried repairing myself but too bad for you I have limited/low connectivity kthnxbai."
And the network itself has five bars so it's not a problem with that. Any help, please?
*Oh and if you're wondering how the heck I'm posting this,
I'm using my dad's computer which apparently works fine. It's just that it's his
work computer so I can't temporarily install Mabinogi.

Update your network drivers? That has a chance of working.

I have a toshiba vista, and the only trouble I have with wifi is when there's a password, cause some only work with macs, but your dad has a pc?

Well, after doing some research I'm going to conclude it's a driver problem. Here's a fix~
1. Windows Key + R
2. Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.
3. Expand the Network Adapters category.
4. Find your wireless card, right click it and uninstall it.
Make sure you uninstall the wireless card, not the ethernet adapter. You'll need it.
The wireless card is usually labeled with "Wireless," "802.11," or "WLAN."
5. Power off the computer.
(optional, may help)
6. Find an ethernet cable. It should be able to fit into one port on the router, and one port on your computer. The Toshiba Satellite L305D laptop's Ethernet port is located on the left side of the keyboard, above the two USB ports. Plug the cable in to the computer and the router.
If you're at a hotel now, you probably can't do this so skip it and hope for the best.
7. Power on, and log in. Windows should automatically reinstall the wireless drivers.
8. Unplug the ethernet cable if you used it.
9. See if it works...
If it doesn't work, it could be a DHCP problem, which can only be fixed if you have router access, but since you can only connect to your home network I don't think that's the problem.
The best solution if this doesn't work is to get a new wireless adapter. When buying one, make sure it's compatible with your router (802.11a/b/g/n).
Alternatively, keep the ethernet cable and always run a wired configuration, saves tons of problems.

IT ISN'T WORKING STILL T_T
At least I'm usually at home, so it's not like my computer's forever disabled. I'm thinking of getting a new computer sometime though.

Are changing the thing it's connected to at the bottom right when you go over to the friends house? :/

^ Uh, not sure what you mean by that.
Although now it's fixed temporarily. It seems that for some reason my computer is fine with accepting signals from this hotel.
*We switched hotels, pretty obviously.*

Your wireless adapter is probably set to something other than "automatically configure", possibly customized for your router at home.
To see if it is, go to
Network and Sharing Center -> Manage Network Connections on the left -> Wireless connection -> Properties -> Internet Protocol Version 4
If the radio button is set to "use the following IP address" and the fields are filled out, write down those numbers and select "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically". Your wireless adapter should now configure itself automatically.
If both are already set to "automatically", then try a different wireless adapter, like an external one that plugs in via USB.

Make sure DHCP is enabled on your wireless adapter properties under IPv4 settings. It would be the "obtain IP address automatically".

Oh, what I mean is, your laptop should have two screens plus a world at the bottom right.
Switch internet connections from there.
