So I just read TA's post on the infraction system.
10 points - 3 days
15 points - 2 weeks
20 points - 2 months
24 points - 6 months
28 points - forever
In total I've received 3 infractions and it says I have (infraction) 0 points total, and since I'm on my last warning from the site so my next ban is a permaban this doesn't make any sense to me.
If I recall correctly I had a 1 day ban, a 3 day ban and a permanent ban ( never had a two-week or 6 month ban) so I have no idea what my infraction score is and can't even estimate since I have no idea how it works.
I would of made this a PM to one of the old staffs but seeing how it's a new team and all...
So yeah... exactly how many points do I have?

You have 0 points.
Everything else has expired by now.

Well, the old ones are expired, so they don't count.
However, since your case is special...I don't really think the new system applies to you (from my understanding), because your next offense = permaban.

So I'm assuming all of us who have infractions but 0 points are starting over from now on, or are things just going to be handled a bit differently despite us having 0 points? For example; user 1 has two infractions for being a jerk, so his next infraction earns him a temporary ban.
or wat.

To be clear, the new system hasn't always been implemented, so you may not have hit every step along the ladder. Also, with expiring infractions, you may hit some rungs several times.
Finally, if you go on a rampage the day after your 25 points worth of infractions expire, you'll probably get perma-banned anyway. Or if you're a chronic offender that just spaces things out.
edit: If you have 0 points and are not problematic, you're starting over. If we know your name/profile/IP by heart, you're not starting over.

That's understandable and fair, then.

I'm pretty sure I fall into the very last category. Phew.

I haven't caused trouble for a little over half a year now, but I'm not sure if the mods have been keeping an eye on me so I have no idea where I stand in this situation

Is my case different? Those three infractions are about 4 months apart each so it wasn't something that was frequent. Although the reason of my permaban was because the staff was "getting tired of my attitude as of lately" but I don't believe I got an infraction near that time..of course I may be wrong.

If you haven't caused trouble for 6 months, it's unlikely you'll be perma-banned for a moderate incident. The last thing we want to do is kick contributing members out. A perma-ban is a few steps beyond a last resort.
