  Is having a car and paying for gas that much of a must have these days? I suppose living in the country side it is. We need a better system like what Europe has. Barcelona in particular had an excellent bike and metro system. $20 for a bike pass for a year. Drop off the bike somewhere and the city takes care of replacing the bikes and what not.
  
  I'm 23 years old and have never owned a car or paid for car insurance. I used to pay for gas mind you when I had my family take me to work and college. Luckily I had one brother/sister who went to the same college who was able to tansport me. Now a days, now that I live in the city. I just take the bus for $1 or walk.

  Cars are the worst necessary investment anyone could ever make. It looses value the very second it's off the lot, and only gets progressively worse. However, it is necessary for some people. Public transportation isn't always the best and work isn't as close as people would like. If only it were as easy as getting another job.
