Laptops cost a lot more for what you get in exchange for being portable. Whether it's worth it or not is entirely up to you, but I'll tell you right now that a laptop capable of playing newer games on high settings is gonna be super expensive. If you're just gonna be playing like Mabinogi and stuff, it'll be cheap though.
Alienware isn't something you should ever buy... if there's ever one with the exact specs you want, it's better to just go to a site that builds computers, put all the parts from the Alienware computer in, and have them build it instead. They charge a lot of extra money for pretty lights and a brand name when in fact there are plenty of very beautiful cases with lights you can buy anyway.
What kinda computer you want depends on what you're doing... Do you only want to play games? What kind of games do you want to play?

Check if you have a MicroCenter store by you!
Got a computer with a monitor+keyboard and a new graphics card and powersupply for like $704 (and that's cause New Jersey taxes)
It runs pretty much everything I throw at it. Vindictus looks bootyful on it. And if I can't run something on normal settings low settings work for sure. I'd imagine you'd have more money too, so you could build something better. I had a very low budget to work with...

If you're settled down somewhere and don't need the portability of a laptop, then get a desktop. Gaming Laptops are mostly for when you travel around a lot, or require something portable for business in a way. A gaming laptop will always be more expensive than a desktop. So, if you're in say, college I do recommend a gaming laptop. Though, you always have the other option of building a desktop and getting a cheap netbook for taking notes in classes.

Nice price? You're being a bit vague. For us to recommend some parts, or a computer for you, you could specify a budget and what games you currently play/will play in the future.

Thats the thing, i dont know what games i will be playing in the future. Generally anything on iBUYPOWER is like 5-10x better then my 2007 dell computer. I might eventually play games like RIFT and possibly the new Mech Warrior Online.

Alienware got worse ever since they paired with Dell
anyways if you're concerned about a gaming computer
a desktop would be a stronger investment than a laptop

i start looking at these computers, and like, their prices are pretty good for what they offer.
i believe ibuypower basically sets the computer up with the basic parts, and any extra hard drives and usb ports are optional.
Thats what id like to think, like i dont know anything, but id like to be prepared and know what i should be getting. Generally something around 1000-1100$, that's including a monitor and a decent outer case.

Well, in terms of Free Games, you dont have to go 1k, can easily hit 400 dollars for a casual gaming desktop that can run any free to play like a joke.
If you want to play newer games in future that are retailed or more high-end, etc. You'd have to specify.
This is my Desktop PC, which costs around 500-600 USD, running BF3 on Ultra (Max) settings.
