This really isn't an urgent issue, since my main laptop should be returned within the next couple of days, but I'm having some troubles with my back-up laptop, and I'd like to know if there are any easy fixes just in case something happens to my main laptop again.
So, first of all, it's an Acer Aspire 6930. Yeah, Acer, shitty, okay. I got it for $25 a few months ago as a just-in-case.
The battery has never worked as long as I've had it, so I run it on the AC adapter alone. I rarely use it unless I need to run another client of Mabi or something like that, so I don't mess with it much and have never really had a problem out of it.
Well, a few days ago when I had to take my main laptop to get repaired, I decided to use the Acer in the meantime, and I noticed it wouldn't turn on. The blue light around the power button is on, so I know power is going into it. When I press the power button, everything lights up for about 2 seconds, there's a clicking sound, and then it shuts back off again.
I did get it to work a few times, after pretty much spamming the power button over and over, so it'll work here and there, but after it shut off randomly this morning, it's not wanting to come on anymore.
I've done the whole "unplug it, remove battery, hold down power button for a minute" thing quite a few times, but it's not doing anything.
So, any other suggestions? Like I said, it's not a huge deal, but it'd be really nice to use something until I have my computer back.

You sure it's fully charged? o_o
My cousin's laptop will do that too if it's on low battery

The battery is a dud. It's never worked while I've had it, but it's not been a problem.

How has it stayed charged all of this time? O:

It hasn't? I run it off the AC adapter. You don't need a battery in a laptop for it to run.

Sounds to me like the board got fried. The clicking sound could have been a hard drive failure (which I suppose could have been caused by a fried board providing bad voltage/data connections to it?)
If it won't even show you a BIOS screen or it doesn't turn on at all, imo there isn't much you can do to fix it yourself. It may have half-worked through spamming before because the components were not fully dead yet, but it sounds like they are now.

Alrighty, thanks Yoorah.
I took it apart earlier to look around and found some loose screws and one just laying around. Put everything back in place just in case that had something to do with it, but it didn't. Not a big deal, getting my computer back tomorrow.
Thanks again.
