Hello everyone. Let me go ahead and explain the situation. Now, my friend didn't ask for help, but I really want her to see the error of her ways...if that's the right thing to do.
She was a Beta Tester for Mabinogi, and was one of the first archers on the server. She did quit after a bit, but came back, (forgot what generation). Anyway, she says she's a hybrid, which is all fine and what not, but her total level is over 1k. She's a human with r8 heal, r9 party heal, rB thunder, rC ice spear, rD meditate, rD mana shield, r6 magic mastery, rC alchemy mastery, rD wind blast, r5 water cannon, rE flame burst, rF life drain, rD synthesis, r5 barrier spike, rF mana crystal, rF fragmentation, rD metal conversion, rB summon golem, r3 refine. Basically, her skills are VERY spread out, and she still doesn't have a single r1 skill, which will probably be crit cause her refine is r3. She says she's doomed to be in g9 forever, cause a room takes like 5 minutes and I always say "I wonder why....." cause I know the exact reason is cause she split her skills up so much. Whenever a new generation comes out, she immediately goes to try the new skills, like at the moment, she's ranking up metal conversion.
She technically would be my senior, and should be a better archer than me and what not, but I outclassed her as an archer around total level 800 since i got r1 Refine, r1 all range skills, (needa update my signature), and I'm not sure if she's skillful yet, let alone her weak bow ego.
Do you guys think there's anything I can do to make her stop being so diverse? I know that I can't control her fantasy life, but it does pain me to see her like this, when she could be so much better. She hasn't finished g9 yet, and don't get me started on g11 (heard that g11 is the hardest out of g9 and g10). I really want her to get a lot stronger and all, instead of just being average, even though she thinks her character is epic....
Any advice or is this post just pointless?:what:

Put a set on blinkers on her so she can focus on one skill.

Make her duel a more balanced Archer of the same level as her. Multiple times. She'll probably lose and then be like,"WHY AREN'T I THAT GOOD?!" Then she'll probably rage quit or start focusing on one thing at a time.
Or just tell her to raise Golem. Easy mode melee.

I second Golem lol I saw a rank 5 golem with rank 5 AM do like 1k wm damage... Rank 1 pwns.

Yeah, you need to get someone to show her how a more balanced archer can be stronger..

I agree with the above. Just shove videos of epic archers that are her level in her face. Over and over... Or, explain to her why her character isn't strong. It seems like you haven't.

Show her the pure raw damage that r1 skills can give and maybe try to get her into a competition if she's competitive. See who can reach x rank of x in x time type of deal. I used to compete with an old guildmate of mine in Pandora and i ended up obsessing over priorities after seeing how valuable it is in the end.
Other than persuasion techniques like that there isn't any way to change their mind, i've tried with stubborn players of past and to no avail.

She's seen rank 1 range skills, but mehhh. She just likes to do stuff her own I guess. And yeah, me and my guild leader have talked to her VERY often about her skills. What she did when we told her all of that is just get r5 smash, then go back to her normal rank anything self.....She has seen r1 and all, but I don't know....She probably will just do what she wants in the first place. The challenge thing might work though.....
@Moppy Epic Starrk pictures btw. My favorite Espada.

..Or leave her alone? From the looks of it, it seems that you're the unhappy one, and not her.
Sure, she fights slowly, but if that's not all she wants to do with the game, that's not a huge problem.
I was personally a very spread out character myself, also a beta tester, although not as high a level as her.
The bottom line is, there's always gonna be someone different, so let her be her.

That's one of the points I talked about in the first post. I asked did anyone think am I wasting my time trying to talk to her about this. It's just that, I know taht she knows how she is, it's just that, she does complain about being doomed in g9 forever. So I was just wondering if I should try to help her or not, but then again, she is herself so....yeah. I think I wasted a thread......

Let her fail.
Thats the best way I deal with people. I just hint that their wrong and let them notice themselves how much they are wrong, at that point they can run back to me and ill help them at their goal.
