I want to know what you guys think...

  I just got a great idea for a videogame. It’s a puzzle game with a bit of horror in it and it would be titled: Psykology. It follows the story of 15 year-old Mindy Warren, who, during a divorce dispute between her parents, was kidnapped by her abusive father when he learned Mindy’s mother gained custody rights instead of him. A short time after the kidnapping, an AMBER alert is issued and the police are on the lookout. Mindy’s father drives by and the police are able to match the car with its description, so a chase ensues. The car comes to a dead end where they crash and Mindy is severely injured, nothing is known about the father. Due to her injuries, Mindy is placed in a drug-enduced coma. Also due to the crash, she ran the risk of becoming an amnesiac, so the puzzle element is running through memories and solving puzzles to piece back information while she’s in a comatose state. The name “Psykology” comes from the fact that we’re dealing with the human mind, and how to restore and repair it and a sort of alternate-reality focused on memories from a certain point in time. I’ve already thought of three possible endings , one of which involves clearing all puzzles with the SS rank. Master,Good, and Bad. Master: You gain full memory back and you learn that your father has been arrested and charged with child endangerment, kidnapping, and reckless driving. Good: You wake up from the coma with full memory, but you learned that sometime after you blacked out in the crash, your father escaped and nothing else is known about his whereabouts. Bad: You wake up with amnesia, your father still on the loose. You forget your name, where you live, and most importantly your mother who has loved you when your father did not. It takes up to 1 full year before you remember everything.
  
  Sorry for the long post, tl;dr. It was originally on my tumblr and I just HAD TO GET IT OUT. So now I want to know what you guys think. I was bored so.

  Sounds like a pretty fun game to play. Can kinda see some similarities with games like Alice: Madness Returns, Amnesia The Dark Descent, Cry of Fear and other games that I can't remember the names of in terms of plot. The story sounds interesting, but the real question is what the gameplay would be like. I can see it being a game like Heavy Rain or Catherine in that regards. I think the bad end should be a bit more gruesome, something like she doesn't remember anything at all... or worst.

  It would be third-person view with exploration. You go through memories (of abuse,good times,special events) and cutscenes often trigger the puzzles. My main inspiration (yeah about that) is Silent Hill. Well, the plot and maybe my vision of what thy areas would look like. Yeah, it could be worse. :<

  Kinda reminds me of how in silent hill the main characters are trying to find something/ dont really understand whats going on. but as you near the end & solve the puzzels they understand & learn to accept what they did :3.
  
  But I like the idea of trying to put your mind & memorise together & think id make for an interesting story if the reason why her memory was shattered was unclear in the beginning x3

  Meh. I like to give backstory to how things happen. Like in Amnesia :D. We know why Daniel has amnesia.
  The puzzle elements will be random, something in the area (shifting boxes or remembering sequences, number puzzles) and they'll be scattered and triggered by events i.e picking something up, entering a room, or usually after a cutscene.

My proposed connection would be that if she fully regains her memory, she'll know where her father was going to take her, and lead the police straight to him (this would also give the player a greater sense of accomplishment as they were the ones responsible for her father's arrest). The other endings would have similar connections (although the bad one should be pretty horrible, worse than not remembering). Everything else was spot on. Now you can get to focusing on gameplay and style.
  
  Also, were you planning on making such a game yourself? Or did you just feel like spouting out the idea?

  I just had the idea. I could invest in the game after I graduate college, but I'm not a video-game designer. All I could do would be managing the plot and designing characters. Programming would be really difficult for me.

  Im working on data structure & will be working with 3d graphics next semester x3 the programming part should be alot less tedious than getting the characters pixels to move correctly. o:

  After college I was gunna slowly creat a game on my own over a few years with my spare time & see what happens :3.

  Which means if you actually made it a game it'd get tons of good reviews and playthroughs.
