Issue with VirtualDub

  Yea, I'm sure this isn't the best place to ask this but who knows, maybe someone knows the answer/solution.
  
  Anyways, normally, I never have any issue veiwing videos (mkv and mp4 mostly) with VirtualDub but now, today, for some reason the program won't play anything but the normal avi's. I still have all my plug-ins and usual codecs. I really have no idea whats going on to be honest.
  
  The error itself is:

  Yes, I did google it, but no exact results; similar results yes, which I tried but no success so far. I cannot think of anything I could have done to cause this.
  
  Anyone have any idea? This kinda of thing isn't in my expertise.

  After a bit of looking through my programs (that affect video/audio), it appears Haali Media Splitter was uninstalled... What? I'm gonna guess my little sister/brother was f**king with the computer or something.
  
  Anyways, I can now go back to viewing the videos (mkv, mp4, etc) but for some reason, I can't even play them.

  The decompression codec cannot decompress to an RBG format. This is very unusual. Check that any "Force YUY2" options are not enabled in the codec's properties.
