This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. Characters are Kirito and Asuna from Sword Art Online

Made this last night after realizing SAO was going to air the next day and I wanted to have a sig and avatar set to fit it. Personally I felt I could have done more with it, since it strongly resembles my earlier signature with Sinon due to positioning and whatnot, but I just wanted to have a sig to fit with the start of the anime airing and did a rush job.

Character is Misaka Mikoto from Toaru Majutsu no Index / Toaru Kagaku no Railgun.

First sig I made using smaller dimensions because Hongfire didn't allow my previous sizes. Couldn't really decide on which background to use for the sig. At first I went with the first background, but then I just asked for an opinion for which was better, and went with the Tokiwadai school in the background. Not really much work put into this one, though I'm definitely going to do a lot more with my next sig using Misaka.

Character is Sinon / Asada Shino of Sword Art Online.

I whipped up the avatar before I worked on the sig. The avatar's kinda meh-ish, and the sig felt slightly half-assed to me. I wanted to get a little more technical and use the modern style brushes that tons of sigs have, but I didn't have any of those dled, nor knew where I could find em. Spent like half an hour deciding on how to do the text without ruining the feel of the sig, which led to me adding in the little FPS radar for an excuse to add in my name.[/SPOILER]

Next planned sig :

Long overdue update is long overdue. Since it's the Summer if you ask and I have time, I'll make a signature for you on request. Though I'm really picky with what I do, for example, I'm more comfortable with making signatures involving anime/manga related characters, and I've never done work using real life photos and etc. Also, I'm not exactly confident in my abilities, so I figure I should be reading up more guides to broaden what I can do.

Plan on using this image for it, will most likely get to work on it around the time Sword Art Online starts airing. At first, I thought the render work for it was going to be hard, because of the petals making me go, "Oh shit, those petals are going to be annoying as fuck to render." I had a lucky break though with the entire background being white, and surprisingly the magic brush tool did a clean job of rendering the image.[/SPOILER]

I may or may not be interested in making signatures for other members, though only in my free time really when I'm very, very bored with nothing else to occupy my time. Also I'd probably be very picky with what image I'm using, as in, I probably won't bother making a sig with, say, some guy shoving a popsicle up his nose. Not only is that unrealistic, but I just won't take it seriously at all.

I like the 2nd Misaka sig =D. I believe in order to improve you're skills you need to keep trying different styles, and never stick to one. If you do it's likely you won't improve. So the best thing is to keep trying different things then sorta come up with you're own style by implementing various things from others.

rofl long overdue update.

Since it's summer and I have some free time, I'll consider doing sig requests, though I can't guarantee any masterpieces or anything. I'm still not very confident in my own work.
