The Samantha Brick saga is fascinating for what it tells us about human nature.
Clearly, the reason people are so angry with her is that she has dared to suggest that she quite likes herself. Her self-belief is just a little too much for our tastes.
The degree of astonishment and outrage she has provoked by saying that she looks in the mirror and sees a pretty person staring back is out of all proportion to her offence. And there is an offence. Of sorts.

In searching for an interesting and provocative topic to write about, Ms Brick undoubtedly misfired. And having done so, she made the classic error of not knowing where to stop. But she put her head above the parapet because that is what writers do.
She certainly generated an interesting debate. Job done, in that respect. People do get judged on their looks, more so than ever in our celebrity-obsessed world and women get judged on their looks more than men, undoubtedly.
But the most fascinating insight that has come from the reaction to Ms Brick is the glimpse we have had into how angry people are right now.
When a woman boasting about her looks can generate a million comments on the Internet ranging from the deeply cross to the murderously furious, you wonder what's really eating us.
We've ganged up on Ms Brick as if we desperately need someone to have a good go at. But there must be a better target for public rage than this.

There's nothing wrong with high self-confidence as long as it doesn't turn into arrogance. We could really use a world where more people are confident in themselves in whatever way instead of society constantly telling us to live up to stupid and usually unrealistic expectations.
What's hilarious about this is, in most cases, if she were to say "omg I'm so ugly" most people would say "awww bby no you're not!" yet when someone calls themselves attractive? OH HELLZ NAW WHAT A COCKY BITCH OMG SO SHALLOW.
People are hypocrites and pat eachother on the backs for it. It's pathetic.

It's more the fact that she's arrogant and a bit delusional. I just watched a video of her where she said that when she walks into a room, she thinks all men are attracted to her and women are jealous of her.
But yeah, this is not deserving of a lot of attention. There are people like this all over the place doing/saying similar things and everyone certainly must know a few.

This is everything I couldn't put into words.

There's a lot of people everywhere that could vaguely fit the description in one way or another.

I don't mean vaguely, at all.

Well, not everyone who claims those things is wrong. Sure, they're a bit of an asshole about it, but that doesn't mean they're always wrong.
Nothin' wrong with preachin' the truth sometimes.

I'm not sure how much I can say without getting into trouble, but I'll just say... I can think of more than one.

Maybe.
But this woman is wrong. Most women are not jealous of her and I'm betting most men aren't attracted to her either.

I guess she's alright for being... 41, but she's not
that pretty.

Still...death threats.

Yes, she's delusional with her thinking but honestly death threats? That's ridiculous. There are other ways to express your disagreement with what someone has said, and honestly if she's happy with herself why try and change that? Just know that not everyone agrees with her and move on.

People did this to Rebecca Black too... and a number of other people.
The people who make death threats clearly don't mean them, for the most part.

I honestly do wonder what these 'death threats' are. If it's something like "I HATE U GO DIE FUKKER U SUK", I wouldn't take it seriously, however something well thought out and borderline creepy would be a concern. This case (along with many others) sounds more like the latter.

She isn't that good looking in my opinion, also I love sourcefed lol. I find death threats way too much though.

mte this is totally ridiculous o_o
I'll just say I'd rather look like myself than her. and there's nothing wrong with being happy of your appearance but this is downright stuck up

I just read this... hahahhahaa
