Plus, the DK cat/Paladin dog already has armor when transformed.
How come we Elves and Giants don't get pets that transform?

The Borzoi is the best looking pet, IMO. Dark cars/paladin dogs gain 20% of the owners transformation bonus and visually don heavy armor.

The mighty ironclad broomstick swoops down upon its terrified enemies! They look on in horror as their attacks bounce right off its armored sides. The era of wooden broomsticks has come to an end...

Animals aren't made for armor because their limbs won't support the extra body weight and size. Although, adding like Horns or Sharp shafts to a pet's head would work for extra damage, since most of them ram into the enemy.

Nonsense. Wardogs and horses were frequently armoured in the past; especially for tournament jousting in late medieval Europe. Not to mention the fact that many animals, from horses to llamas to dogs, are used as pack animals, carrying more than an average set of armour would weigh. Absolutely no reason they can't get armour in the game.
