So I started playing again and tried that Dragon Raid

In any case, the black orbs do damage and have a nasty DOT (Damage over time) of 60HP per second! The only way to get rid of the effect is to have your character run through one of the 4 mini-holes that have water in them.

Therefore, it's important to have them filled - since 60HP per second adds up quite quickly.

I've only done the raid 3 times, but it is a lot of fun. Reading a guide on the dragon would be helpful for me too, since there may be tricks and hints that I don't know about. Also, congrats on selling his drops. The ones that break off sell the most, although it's mostly the horns everyone seems to be all over.

Well ... except for his tear.

In any case, I hope this helps.

Thanks. I've done a couple successful runs so far. I'm beginning to know my roll as a Evie. Revive/Corona spam while filling up holes with water and supporting xD..

Haha, only because you're considered low leveled! 60s and up have to fight him haha xD Sometimes it sucks not being able to play a support role...

Well, a few corrections and additions for support role on Dragon.

First of all the pools are at the Southwest and Northeast (not northwest) corners of the area. Otherwise Episkey covered the pools of water very accurately.

Second is your ballista and you. You should dedicate yourself to one ballista (two if there aren't as many people). There are 5 breakoffs on the dragon.
    1. His front left leg. (Spine)
    2. His front right leg. (Spine)
    3. His head. (Horn)
    4. His wings.
    5. His tail.

Removing the tail will slightly decrease the range of his tailswipes, but it's not as helpful. Most parties have learned to deal with it and instead perfer that you attempt to gain the spines or horn. Those are ~1m on the market still.

Shelters are nice to keep up. There are two on the north and two on the south. Don't bother building them up unless he just did a flying attack (more on this after) or if he just took off.

Anyways, the next part is important. How to avoid getting maimed by the dragon. There are three things that you want to keep an eye out for.

    1. Is the Dragon getting too close to you?
If so, just run away and wait for him to leave your corner. Check to see if anyone needs revives or if any ballistae users aren't doing their job. Otherwise just run and hide. You can try to help out with shelters or such when waiting.

    2. Is the Dragon roaring?
If so, he just did his "rocks". These are an unblockable attack that inflicts the DoT status that Episkey mentioned. It homes into 5-6 people randomly. You should be a fair distance away from the dragon when he does this, so you can check if a black ball is headed towards you. You can dodge it with a well timed hop + Flying Sparrow (I perfer going fowards + to the side). For Lann and Fiona you can sprint smash in the same way.

    3. Is the Dragon flying?
This is going to get it's own section! Just note, your first reaction should ALWAYS be running to the nearest shelter (and helping to build it if necessary).

When the dragon takes off, he will do one of 4 things.
    1) "Carpet bombing". Where he will fly back and either cover the northern or southern half of the battle area in fire. Damage seems pretty random, but it's pretty deadly so assume it's not safe. Sometimes he'll only do one bombing run. Just stay in a shelter.

    2) "AoE". You can tell he'll do this if he flies UNDER the stage. He'll reappear northeast of the area, and perch himself on a rock. You can dodge this like his rocks, but it's much safer to hide in (or behind) a shelter.

    3) Nothing. He'll circle around and land back on the stage.

    4) Repeated fly overs. First off, run to the nearest open ballista. This attack is key. If you can nail him with 3 ballista shots total, he'll tumble to the ground and give everyone (even your terrible Lv. 4X damage!) a chance to spam attacks for ~15 seconds. His attack in this phase is very damaging, but if you're in a ballista it tends to block the attack for you. The number of fly overs is random, sometimes he does around 15 and sometimes he does 5. If he stays up for longer, sometimes he'll do a barrel roll before coming back for another bombing run, which will remove one ballista shot that hit him. I'd suggest that you wait for him to be flying at you from the other side of the stage to get a good shot lined up.

Also note he does tend to cycle them in this order. But don't ever count on that. I've had him carpet bomb 3 times in a row and such. It helps get a general idea, but don't rely on it.

Aaaaand that should be it for most of the support elements. Feel free to ask if you have more questions.

Lol yeah. There's also ballista if they aren't occupied.

Thank you very much. Those will help me a lot in avoiding attacks and helping my team.

Thank you very much for the correction. The information was very well organized and helpful!

Also, I never knew you could dodge the black rocks AOE!
I'd rather go to a shelter, but sometimes they fill up or I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere T_T

I just have a question, what did you mean when you said "I perfer going fowards + to the side" when you mentioned Evie's dodge?

I also can attest that personally, Mana Amber does not seem to protect you from the impact or the DOT.

Invertex means using Flying Sparrow. And dodging the black orbs is quite easy on Lann ^.^

Well, I mean this poorly drawn diagram.

    - - - O - - -
    - - - - - - X
    - - - - - - -
    - - - P - - -

If O is the black orb and P is your current location. You aim towards X while dodging.

It moves you to the side enough to dodge the ball and fowards enough to throw off it's tracking. Timing is somewhat difficult, but it's doable. You might as well try or get hit. While I'm not sure if Karok can dodge it, Spear Lanns and Fionas can sprint smash with a similar idea (but stricter timing). Sword Lann just slips through it.

Also note this is possible if you're somewhat close to him (I've been right beside him and pulled it off). But distance gives you more time to react. Expect to have to take the hit later on once you get to the 60s and are expected to contribute damage.

I could go into direct combat tips against the dragon (which is actually what I'm best at), but it's not as helpful for 4Xs. I might as well make a dragon guide if I were to do that.

Spear Lanns can dodge the same way as Evie Flying Sparrow, just have to roll as it's hurtling towards the player. Now it's Fionas and Karoks that have it harder, pretty sure Karoks can't absorb the black orbs.

Karok is just weird for me. I can't tell if he has his un-absorbshockables or un-weaveables since I have little to no experience with watching them play. It's sort of like how most non-Fionas can't tell if an attack is a normal, smash, or unblockable.

Regardless, it's still worth trying to dodge. I'm a Fiona and I can get it at least 50% of the time when I have distance.

So, a simple Side dodge+Flying Sparrow is not sufficient? I'm not so sure if I could pull of a diagonal dodge under that pressure.
    But, it's worth a shot.

I will most definitively try this the next time I fight against him. *Goes off and practices on the boat*

I forgot to ask ... but he's vulnerable to attacks when this happens? O_O

    Sweet.
