Won't be needing this--I'm consolidating the guide for humans and the guide for giants.

Currently working on the green set and skills.
Got a bit more than half the green equips.
Need to get 2x oblivion sonnet acc's and fish that manual up for the sword of elsinore.

Headed for the Elsinore Sword I see; I wanna get a price down for how much money it would take to obtain a Sword (including price of Rosemary gloves/mats/etc).

I bought all my mats when the gacha was spewing them out.
I managed to get enough mats for 3-4 gloves with under 15 mil. (Gold was easy to come by then.)
I still see Silks going for 100k per every so often.

Just a few questions.
For the headgear wouldn't dexterity still be better than bandit because evasion hasn't been uncapped yet?
Is Lance Counter really necessary since all it does is add dex and its use in combat is lacking in most cases?
For the green you listed range attack as something to get but in equipment have metal needle as an enchant on headgear. Wouldn't that like be shooting yourself in the foot in a sense?
Also for the end damage are you basing the hits on racoons or monsters similar?
Sorry just things that popped into my head when I read it.

1. Sword mastery is 40 max damage for dual-wield, just like blunt mastery is 60 max damage for dual wield.
2. Bandit is inferior to dexterity because evasion has not and probably will never be uncapped.
3. Rest is -8 will as it's not uncapped.
4. Oblivion Dexterity is more endgame that Round Dexterity, specially if you have Restored.
5. For gloves you are limited to Classic/Oblivion Elementalist/Swarming because of Rosemary. Elsinore is better in average damage and practical usage than any upgraded sword, so this limitation is important to note.
6. Clothing setup can get +4 more max damage by simply enchanting on accessories that have max dmg reforge.
7. Any sword with Fire/Ice/Lightning Lv 2 reforge will add +11.1% more overall damage to non-elemental mobs (most of them), so getting a decent sword with that reforge could be better than ego/elsinore or a maxed out battle for a small fraction of the price depending on your max damage.
Other than that, guide is pretty thorough.

HOLY HELL. I didn't even know mastery damage is doubled upon dual-wield O.O. That changes my calculations for both the Giant and Knight guides O.O.
But yes, I'll get to changing the notices you and others mentioned :>.

I intended for the Purple, Pink, and Black levels to be endgame, projected with as much information (regardless of enchant released or not) :D.

Good point :D.

Changed to Corundum :D.

Yes, based on 0 defense/0 protection monsters :D.

Lol, no need to be sorry :D.

Got it, but for some reason the Final Counts don't change (must've added wrong to start with QQ)

Changed.

Changed.

Gotta keep that 130% critical :D.

Noted.
6. Clothing setup can get +4 more max damage by simply enchanting on accessories that have max dmg reforge.
Not including reforges (so many indeterminate money-wise factors, artisans and Special Upgrades), so too much a hassle.

Same deal as max damage reforges xD.
Other than that, guide is pretty thorough.

There seems to be a lot of emphasis on the critical hits for R upgraded weapons. What about the times when those weapons don't critical. What would be the damage difference between those than the Ego/BeamSword/Elisnore combinations?
You should add in Fierce Ribbons as some kind of near impossible equipment set. They do make some difference for those who are lucky to have one or even two.
-
Soushi wrote on 2012-04-19 17:35
You could probably edit that to say "special upgrades take the cake for critical hits". Because outside of critical hits, ego + elsinore take the cake in pretty much everything.
When comparing R-Type weapons we always use average damage, right? Well, ego + elsinore beat any upgraded sword in average damage. Comparing them only on criticals is as unfair as comparing ego + elsinore vs battles only on non-criticals.
As for rosemary setup lacking critical... you can always use Classic Elementalist/Swarming.
Classic Elementalist = 6 max, 16 crit.
Steel Needle Ecstasy = 12~16 max, 13~16 crit.
Classic Swarming = 10 max, 8 crit.
Steel Needle Peaceful = 18~22 max, 6~9 crit.
When you compare them in that fashion both are pretty close in functionality. Oblivion Swarming is only really for WM spam setup which would disregard critical anyhow, or for testing/e-peen purposes.

Hmm, very good points being made about average damage. I might split up the final sections of both my Royal Giant and Royal Knight guides into "The Highest of the High" (for highest damage possible gained through critical, which is practically what I have already) and "The Better than Average" (for comparison of average damage).
For the second section, I'll just include non-critical numbers. Ughh, does that mean I gotta calculate minimum damage and offer a damage range and then throw in the 80% balance to get average damage? xD
EDIT: Also, I highly considered adding in Fierce Ribbons for both of my melee guides, but I want to keep the enchants in the realm of "obtainable through dungeoning/monster drops". Of course, Gacha might spew out Fierce Ribbons in the future, but I doubt the quantity will exceed a number enough for consideration by the masses.
