  Not everyone can get retirement/good retirement to keep their families going.
  Some people love their job, they worked hard for their job and who the fuck are you to say they aren't allowed to have it anymore.

  This is why you don't base your entire college experience around just your major. I am nearing the end of my first year of college, and my degree program counselor was incredibly nice about my plans and goals. I told him i want to develop games, and am getting a computer science degree with an emphasis in computer programing, and a minor in art to make sure i have the skills required to develop games. He took a look at my schedule that i set up and made a few recommendations but said that it was overall good.
  
  I figure my plan works because even if I can't make a living on making games, I can still do something I enjoy, working with computers. As another part of my plan, I am taking no loans out, and lived with my parents for this first year. Though that was partially ruined by my mom needing me to take the loan out anyway for health bills and food one rough month.
  
  Anyway, people need to plan more, though I do understand that it is difficult to get a job now.

  I also think people should think about what they want to major in during high school, not necessarily the one major you absolutely want to do, but to think about it realistically.
  
  At the risk of offending some people (but i'm going to say it anyways...), I think that some degrees are near-useless. That's just my opinon, I know, but there are some degrees where if you're just out of high school or around that age, and you want to sustain yourself financially, that you shouldn't get. It's a burden on taxpayers and whoever is paying for college/the loans, which is the student and possibly their family as well.
  
  As much as China sucks sometimes, one of the things they do is eliminate majors that underperform in terms of salary, un/employment, and college enrollment. It makes me wonder why we don't do the same, because by allowing people to pick silly majors, we as a country are setting them up to fail before they even graduate.
  
  I know i'm not even in college myself, but it makes me upset that people who feel passionate about something and are going to contribute useful things to society, but need loans and whatnot, can't get them because of people who take out $100k in loans to get a degree in advanced underwater basket weaving.
