It has been rumored that using nexon cash on your newly created character will result in your disqualification from the event. Can anyone confirm if these rumors are true or not?

That would make no sense whatsoever. They want to MAKE money, not lose money.

according to a forum post on the nexon forums by maeby, you will not be disqualified for buying nx.
Nexon Forums - Buying Nx - Project RM
Quote from Maeby:
Q: Can I purchase and use NX for character cards, pets, and other items why attempting to complete the parameters of Project RM?
A: Yes! Using pets, one week rebirths, and other items from the cash shop are allowable and acceptable for Project RM and will not disqualify you.

There was a thread on Nexon forums saying this same thing. It says it negates beginner status, which is your beginner service.

What does "beginner status" have to do anything?
If beginner service is what qualified you for this event/project, then simply leveling over 30 would disqualify you as well. Odds are getting through G3 without any skipping will push you over level 30.

Even if someone could somehow get through G1-G3's quests without leveling past 30, it would still be impossible to complete them while remaining under 30 because some parts of the quests require the character be over level 30.

The lvl limit to do g1 is 25+.
I've already completed g2 with no pets and kept my lvl at 25, all u have to do is suicide a few times till your -exp then run the dungeons.
I'm now on g3 at lvl 25 with -98% exp and NO pets.
It's possible to do if you really know how to play. It just takes a long time, and some patience.

Or you can just make a party and set finish rules to anyone. I've been using this ever since I reached 29, only needed to get rid of the quest exp with suicides.

The only thing they're checking is account creation date, not total level.
