Yes.... it does. :chomp2:
lol.. try looking at it logically. D: All of these components are either made by companies renowned for their quality products, or aren't newly designed components in the first place!
Intel CPUs are rock solid in terms of reliability no matter when you buy. Yes, there has been an exception (or two? I don't remember), but that's nothing to build a case off of. Intel does slightly refine production processes over time, however, releasing processors with new steppings--but these are more about things like thermals, overclockability, etc. Most of the time, you wouldn't notice the difference. :v Granted, this time around things are a bit different, because Intel's launching a revolutionary manufacturing process. But at the same time, I have much faith in their QA, given the importance of this launch for them.
Pricing here depends more on the competition. And in this product range, Intel's only competition is itself. The results speak for themselves.
Next up in the new products list: The motherboard! The boards themselves are built with very little substantial change over the generations. Not much to go wrong there. What does change and where motherboards did get a black eye recently is in those chipsets, where Intel discovered a reliability issue in the SATA controller. But their response was excellent, and they've made sure to check quality even more thoroughly.
As for the graphics card.. those things can fail semi-randomly, so I'm not gonna care too much. Got a nice warranty from XFX (I hear they have a good rep) and an on-CPU graphics chip for backup graphics if need be. So, I'm covered!
The only part I'm a bit iffy about is the SSD. I've seen some posts where users claim they're getting BSODs despite Intel's custom bug fixes. Some cases look like user error, others not so much, and then there's tons of people who have rock-solid stability with these. But I'm kind of curious so I'll probably go ahead with that anyway. >:D
So.. yeah. New Intel CPU != PS/Xbox launch, lolol.
Yoorah, as a joke I used to make....Go get EVGA's Classified SR-2, fill it uip to 48GB of RAM @ 1800 Mhz each. Dual Intel Xeons (Because you're that ballin') with GTX 680's in SLI. Slap 1500W PSU onto the mix, some epic liquid cooling gear (EVGA has a case dedicated to the board and liquid cooling unit~ around 200) and slap whatever SSD you want and you'll have a monster.
Price? Over your budget at 3-5k ;P
Pfft, I have no budget. That kind of system just wouldn't appeal to me. :P And I'd feel guilt wasting that much money. ):
