anyways
WOO
new Intel CPUs
they're quite over exaggerating the OS security thing
I'd rather they get rid of their integrated GPU and focus more on the CPU from the extra space.
Everything sounds nice though. Just in time for GTX 680.
It's actually not as silly as it may sound. High-quality random number generation is important for cryptography, so it's a good feature for those who need it for serious purposes.
And the OS Guard thing is a hardware security feature that ties into an OS that supports it. Win 8 will have support, and so will future Linux releases. I'll admit that I didn't into it beyond that, but I say that as long as it won't kill performance (and it probably won't, being specialized hardware and all), it's a nice addition.
The GPU is nice for encoding video, though. It's also a nice backup GPU in case that GTX 680 fries itself in typical NVIDIA fashion. :P
If you want moar CPU, get Sandy Bridge-E (gen 2). A 6 core, 12 thread beast. Ivy Bridge-E (gen 3) will be out some time early next year, I think.
