I was thinking that it might be a good idea to add some stickied topics in the "Town Square" sections of Mabination where players could freely post things which they want to give away.
http://mabination.com/forums/22-NA-Alexina
http://mabination.com/forums/26-NA-Mari
http://mabination.com/forums/30-NA-Ruairi
http://mabination.com/forums/34-NA-Tarlach
The following rule would have to be adopted.
You may not make requests of other players. Begging for items will be reported as spam.
(If someone just gave away a stack of holy water, you may not request that they provide you with holy water as well.)
I'm looking for constructive feedback on this idea.

That sounds like a pretty good idea, as long as people don't beg for items like you mentioned. Claiming in-game favoritism should probably be a no-no as well, since it could become a, "Ugh you never give me anything but you give (name) things all the time!".

This seems like a good idea imo :o I had a few stuff in the past week that I ended up throwing away since no one wanted :/. Then felt bad since they weren't exactly cheap either. eh. Also, offtopic-ish, but you have two NA Ruari links and no NA Tarlach link :x

I can see there potentially being a problem with this one. First is with time zones, and then with people just hoarding things because they can and not because they actually wanted it. I guess that's up to the person doing the give-aways, though, how they'd want to do it.

I love this suggestion, I have a lot of crap I'd give away.

I really like this idea. I have a lot of crap I could definitely give away, things that won't sell, I don't have time to sell, etc.

When you decide which people are getting what for free (in a game world instead of a real world), it will create more hassle and trouble than necessary. Complaints about subjective unfairness are more likely, even if they aren't justified.
If stickied topics weren't used, but subforums are instead, then it might be more acceptable.

I'd think that the best way to do this is to only allow posts in the stickied threads (one per server's subsection) by those who are giving things away. It'll be their responsibility to update their posts once items have been given away (to save themselves from countless messages for items) and it removes any public whining about "Why didn't I get that? I was the first to ask!" because they will have no proof of that. Any seriously annoying people will be blacklisted in game and/or ignored in these forums, as appropriate.
The people who give stuff away will be able to be as picky as they choose about how and to whom they give their items, without any public drama about it. I really think that it's a great idea. I have some stuff to put in their myself....
Just to re-underline.... it'd be critical to have the rules for these stickied threads outlined completely in the first post therein, and to have the support of the forum mods and admins in enforcing them.

Sounds like a good idea. I'd also like to request this if we are getting it, on behalf of the Vindictus section? Always the useless thing we have to NPC or put up on the market that we have no space for.

There really isn't enough activity in the Vindi section to warrant it. If you actually check the Bazaar section, the majority of Sell/Buy topics are from people with <10 posts who never come back to the site. While the Mabi sections also have questionable activity, it's at least a lot more active than the Vindi section (with a few posts per day instead of a few per month).
I personally like the idea as well, but there are still those little details that need to be ironed out.

Well, it doesn't so much have to be a whole new subsection as much as it can just be a stickied thread, it would make "throwing out trash" a lot easier/more convenient. The Vindictus Bazaar isn't really a good way to measure the activity of the subforum (though I'm sure you know a lot more about the subforum than I do), selling=/=giving away items for free, and what with Vindictus' economy it's starting to become less necessary to create threads selling things.

Definitely love the idea. I'll brainstorm a little about how it would work, but I think most people have it covered.

Just gonna bump this, since it hasn't happened yet, and I'm just waiting to get some stuff out of my inventory. :D
