Hm. So I've decided to finally [S]pirate[/S] buy photoshop. And I'm not sure which one I should get lol. I'm planning to use it to make sigs and wallpapers maybe. Any suggestions?

The newest ones I suppose. They just announced CS6 and you can try the beta
here.
The current version is CS5.5 and its what you should probably [S]pirate[/S] buy.
I've been running CS5 but I really miss CS2. I seem to be rather alone in this sentiment however, as everyone loves CS5 more than I do.
If you're just making sigs and wallpapers there is no reason why you can't just work with GIMP though. Same shit.

Oreally... Hm. I'll give GIMP a try first then I suppose. Then if I feel the need, I'll reconsider photoshop again. lol.

Okay so I just looked into the features of CS6 and I was absolutely BLOWN away.
I think Adobe finally tapped into the dark depths of black magic because some of its features are seemingly impossible. I'm downloading the beta right now.

I felt that way about CS5 lol... I don't know anything about Photoshop but I had to try out the new features on a few pictures I had.
I'll be watching the videos for the new CS6 features in a bit.

"Content Aware move tool" is black magic. I don't know how they do it. I just don't know.
Everything else is just really really nice.

Actually, in my opinion, Photoshop has better filters and settings than GIMP does.
GIMP is good if you'd rather just get a free program than [s]pirating[/s]buying CS5.

Yeah but when do you really even use those filters? GIMP gives you all the filters you ever need.
Its exciting to discover how to use all the effects and filters on photoshop and go crazy like a 4th grader that just discovered swear words, but down the road you'll realize its not really all that.

I've actually always used CS3 but that was from way back when all those brushes weren't compatible with CS4. I don't really keep up with downloading new brushes so I just play with my old ones. Maybe I should.. acquire.. CS6 for myself and check it out.
