If people weren't greedy they could just as easily not make prices 100k and do cheaper. Irregardless of things occurring around them. the things around them will help them determine if they will do this. Considering people for whatever reason buy dyes at these new price marks the sellers keep selling to that price. Contrary to some beliefs if you just boycott things you don't deem acceptable, you are doing something even if it's slight. You only see major differences when mass people do this though. If no one bought dyes at the 100k a pop eventually sellers would lower their prices because no one would buy. This is why holy water shot up as well, before not as many people bought it and now basically everyone does so the demand is higher and people try to push the prices.
Yes, boycotting them on a large scales will lower the prices in the short term. But it'll also cause allot of sellers to stop selling dyes and the market action will just raise the prices again. Demand > supply and prices raise and vice versae. And my reason why sellers will stop buying dyes is they won't get enough gold to justify the $ investment.
You have to keep in mind that the player selling you that dye has to pay $1 real money for it, and the gold they get back needs to make it worth spending that money. If you take the prices at witch gold is sold at by the bots, then a dye should actually cost 135k. Because selling it for less means they could have gotten more gold by buying from the bots. The simple economics is, why would I pay $1 for say 50k, when I could get 135k for the same $1. Now I'm not saying buy from bots, they might just be scams, but it would better explain why dyes are 100k. It's a trade off, less gold but you're less likely to get scammed and it's not against the ToS.
Mabi's market seem to react just like any other real world market. You have your normal items that have stable supply and demand so their prices tend to be stable and your luxury items where there's can be large fluctuation between supply and demand and that makes the prices seesaw up and down.
Things that do get to me is people trying to sell Difficult armor for 3mil when you can buy Jackal or marble items for 4 mil.
