  I gave her hair that goes from light to dark such a long time ago, and no matter how annoyed I get when I try to color it, I still leave it that way. ;w;

  Hello there, it looks great. Critique I'd have is check the shoulder on it, usually having an arm up like that pushes the flesh on the shoulders up so it bulges a bit. As it is right now it looks more like a toy arm rotated upwards. I'm not too sure of your intended age of this character but the facial features don't look like a young girl so the head is pretty large in proportion to the rest of that body that we could see.

  The pose started out differently so I had issues with the arms. I had a pretty good reference image I found afterwards but I'll need to surf through the mass of images I seem to have saved afterwards. While I do think I'd want to make the head a bit smaller, I also want to make her look younger. I'm just not sure how much I should change because she's supposed to be fairly small, height-wise, and kind of narrow.

  I'm mainly working on the coloring right now since there are contrast issues and I just find it a bit boring in general. She is supposed to look more on the young side, 14-ish, though she isn't really the age she looks. I've been looking at it for so long that it's hard to be objective. Might be that knowing what her age is and what age she's supposed to look have gotten confused in my brain. It may be the texture of the skin close-up, since my painting is kinda rough close-up, or it could be the mostly-closed eyes, but I can't help the eyes since she needs to be looking down at something specific. I tried wider open eyes and it just looked unnatural and kind of creepy, so I think I'll have to go a different route with that, if necessary.

  Having now looked at it for 10 minutes, I find it hard to pinpoint what's really bugging me. Would you agree that somehow it still doesn't look quite right? At this point the only thing I could think it may be is that perhaps the neck is a little short, making the head look quite large at first glance. If you don't mind me asking, is she reclining against a surface or is she floating? Perhaps you were going for an unsettling kind of mood too with this one? If so, I think it works as it is.

  She is floating towards something underneath her, but that probably won't be apparent until the rest is put in.
