In GW1, pets were pretty terrible and not many people used them. If you took a pet along with you, you were pretty much gimping yourself.

In GW2 you always have a pet with you. You can't not take a pet with you, so I'm not quite sure what your point here is or what you're even trying to argue but it doesn't make any sense.
