Ron Paul's Son: "I Didn’t Think Obama’s Views On Marriage ‘Could Get Any Gayer’"

  Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) became the latest Republican to weigh in on President Obama’s decision to personally support same sex marriage Friday. From his speech before a Faith and Freedom Coalition meeting in Iowa, per the Des Moines Register:
  
  At the Iowa Faith & Freedom event, Paul mocked President Obama’s remark that his view on marriage was evolving. “Call me cynical, but I didn’t think his views on marriage could get any gayer,” he said.
  
  The Faith and Freedom Coalition is a socially conservative group led by former Christian Coalition leader Ralph Reed. At the event, Paul’s speech focused on what he said are the connections between social conservatives and the more libertarian conservatives who support his father’s presidential bid.

  Sure you have a right to complain about whatever you want. But I feel that this whole gay "marriage" thing is distracting from the more important issues. For example, people complain about Rick Santorum being anti-gay, while ignoring the fact that he wants to invade Iran! And yes I do complain about transsexuals in the girl scouts, but guess what, I spend much more time posting about the real issues that affect our country. I also think it's ridiculous that you think that Rand Paul is somehow "anti-freedom" for being morally opposed to gay marriage (mind you that his position is that he wants to get the Federal government out of the issue altogether).

  Call me crazy, but its only irrelevant and less pressing because its doesn't really apply to us.
  
  I mean, I actually agree with you, gay marriage is really unimportant. Especially for you and I who aren't gay and don't really care.
  
  But then you also gotta imagine that for people who are gay, this is probably one of the most important things for them at the moment. Not much else can take priority. And because there are so many people who pretend to care about the topic, announcements on stances and debates on them is a fair way to reflect whether America actually wants candidate X or Y.
  
  But by fair I mean irrelevant and bullshit.
  
  Still, better than talking about real controversial issues, because no one ever reads reforms, bills, and plans discussed by candidates. People vote based on whether or not the president will support gay marriage, abortion, war on terror, llamas, etc.
