I've been wanting to have better performance in terms of graphics with my computer, and i tried to update my nVidia GeForce 7300 SE driver. However, after that update i found that my Windows Vista Aero theme was no longer visible, or applicable. I had to do a system restore to get back to where i was before the update so that i still had Aero. Without Aero i had a very simple, plain theme. I tried many ways to fix my theme and go back to Aero, but all was fruitless. So now i've been sticking to my reasonably outdated driver, and i've been putting up with it.
Lately i've been seeing if i can get a nVidia driver update that does support WVDDM (Windows Vista Display Driver Model) and the Aero theme, because after checking out this website i'm drawing to the conclusion that the update i tried doesn't actually support WVDDM, even though the update specifically is for Windows Vista. This is the update i tried: GeForce/ION Driver Release 256
I'm wondering if anybody knows what could be the problem and whether my computer is the cause or if the update is the one with the issue. These are my computer specs:
-MS Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit SP2
-Pentium Dual Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz
-2.0GB RAM
-nVidia GeForce 7300 SE
And if this has anything to do with this; this is my computer : CM 690 II Advanced-Cooler Master
Mine has been hand assembled with god knows what, and it's the one without the 'side window' mentioned in the website.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
