The Pre-Generation, The Cold View
A mysterious woman named Nao brings a young girl to the world of Erinn, a place created by the great god Aton Cimeni. She was brought in at a moment of relative peace; though fomors still attack, the land is not ruled by fear. Upon her arrival, she was disoriented and lost. She didn't know where she was or why she was there, all she knew was that it was cold, very cold in this place that people call Sidhe Sneachta. For a week, she stayed in this desolated land full of snowmen, wandering around the tree and trying to avoid the wild life there. She isn't sure when but one day she woke up in a warm bed. An adventurer had found her laying body behind a snowman while trying to hunt down some coyotes. Dilys had took care of her for a few days, she had not the strengh to get up or do anything.
Once she had recovered enough, the young girl had gotten up and left the house, discovering a warn and calm village that seemed to be in the mountains. Working left and right for the villagers to try and gatther up some money. She had heard that people like her often become warriors and such and leave the village. Once she had enough money, she when to see Malcolm and asked him to show her the clothes he had, hoping to find something better to wear then her now worn out clothings. It was then that she saw it, a Magic School Uniform. It was black with some purple on it. It costed a lot but after days and days of work, she had collected a small fortune. Trying out the new dress, while it didn't fit her perfectly, she bought it and got rid of her old clothes.
The people of the village teached her so many things, some tried to teach her combat which tired her out too fast, others tried to teach her to make firecamps, which she found to be a little too hot. At some point, Trefor asked her to go help someone in the Alby dungeon. She had heard rumors of it been infested by big and dangerous spiders. Heading there on her own, the young girl entered the dungeon lobby. That place looked so divine. Who in the world could have build such a thing. She looked around that lobby, trying to find a door or a passage, she didn't get how she was supposed to help someone. While looking at the large goddess statue, she triped down and her dungeon pass Trefor had given her droped on the floor. Opening her eyes quickly and getting up, dusting herself a little, she looked at where her dungeon pass had fallen.. it was gone.
Looking around some more, she saw that the entrance was gone. "Where.. where am I ;-; " she lowly said. Behind the statue, she found a set of stairs going down, Walking there caustisly, she entered the dungeon. The air itself was kind of cold but not displeasing. There was another statue in the center of the first room but she ignored it. Going further into the hallway, she discovered a treasure chest in the ground. Opening it in an hurry, she soon figured out it was a trap as an army of white spiders appeared. A long battle occured and finally, she looked at the doors opening up. She was bleeding a little left and right but she ignored it, going further into the dungeon. The second room she found had a locked door, there was nothing in the room and it looked weird to her. Caustioly, she walked toward the door and placed the key she had found into the lock. The door opened without any problem, taking the key with it. Hesitanting a little, the poor girl walked pass the door, finding another room on the other side. It had weird orange poles in all four corners and a large locked door to her left. Inspecting one of the pole, she triggered it and rats appeared. This time.. it was hard.. After another long battle, she finally came out of that room where rats appeared out of nowhere. For a moment, she crawled out of the room, leaving a small trace of blood behind her. Once outside through, she tried to get on her feet, falling twice back to the ground before finally standing up, walking slowly as her right leg hurted a lot; She couldn't stand on it well anymore. It was then, she found a large door with a giant lock and chains on it, there was weird poles in the corners again. A small rat had followed her from behind from the last room, staying far from her, watching her. The young girl walked toward one of the pole to activate it but then heard a stone roll, looking behind her, she saw the little rat and the little rat noticed how she saw him. In panic, the rat ran around, hiting it's head into the other three poles before running into the girl and pushing her into the last pole, the large door opening. The rat then ran out of the room. Bats.. lots of bats appeared... The girl tried to attack one but the bat blocked it with it's wing, following it with headbuts that threw the girl into the midle of the room. All the bats started to turn around the girl. Coming from the room after that one, she could hear "Help! help me!". The call for help continued for a while and finally stoped. The Tir residant walked out of the room to see why the girl hadn't come to help her yet. The large spider in the room ran after the Tir residant which countered that attack and killed it in one hit. No point in faking needing help anymore. In the room filled with bats, she noticed that a lot of bats were siting on a rock, there was so many of them that she couldn't see the rock. A Walking in closer, the bats ran off and what seemed to be a rock was actually the young girl, terrorified on the ground to the point where she wasn't moving, her eyes wide open in fear.
It took a few days for the young girl to wake up in. She was back in Dilys house and her body had recovered from the wounds by the time she woke up. "Wha..what happened to me?" she asked weakly to the girl tending to her. "You were attack in the dungeon and suffered severe wounds." It took a few more days for the girl to get up, her nights were filled with nightmares of all sort. The residants of Tir had tried to convince the girl to go back into the dungeon but the girl was totally against it. She worked doing part-time jobs for them instead. At some point, she went to visit the school of Tir Chonaill at around 8 in the morning. She saw some peopel taking class, it was tend that she saw Lassar cast a little ball of fire into her hands. Interupting the class, the weak girl asked her "What-what is that?". Lassar was a little irritated by the question of this girl that kept avoiding dungeon "Pay for my class and I'll tell you what it is, now leave, you are disturbing us".
The next day, she brought with her enough money to pay for the magic class of Lassar. A bit relucant to teaching that dropout, she had no choice since she payed. The young girl studied hard, coming everyday for the teaching. After some days, Lassar told her that she was ready and finally taught her to use IceBolt. Lassar was surprised at how fast the girl learned it. "You might have a natural afliction with the power of ice.." she commented without been too serious. After training a while using her new ability, she soon builded the confidence to go back into a dungeon. It was easy, the spiders died so fast and the rats were vanquished so soon. The boss room was another problem on it's own through, but nevertheless, she pulled it off despite been badly hurt by it.
With time, the girl tried other dungeon like Ciar, teaming up with people and watching them fight. She gained more money and started to grow up on her own. She wasn't the young girl that she was anymore. During those time, she tried to learn other magic but they never really worked out well for her, firebolt was a pain for her to learn and she failed the class a few times before finally been able to cast weak little trace of fire in her hands. For ciar dungeon, she often teamed up with her friend. It was kinda funny cause unlike her, her friend used a light pink hammer with a wooden handle to fight. To her, it didn't seem like a real weapon like the other people that she dungeoed with used. Still, they both got along fine. She had taught combat to her but soon found out that this hammer girl had more talent than her and soon surpassed her in melee combat.
One day as they were wandering around the market, that hammer girl came to ask her for something. "Please please please ;-;" She was kinda irritated by that sudden request. She soon gave up and decided to buy her this pink outfit for her. *She really know how to be annoying when she want something* She though as she handed her the outfit.
By then, they had visited other place like city of Dunbarton, the dragon ruins and other dungeons. They weren't always togeter but often saw each others at Ciar.
The Generation 1, The Cold View
One night while camping out nearby Ciar dungeon with a few people she finished a dungeon with, her pink friend woke up from beside her. "Sleepy head, did you really have to fall asleep on my laps all of a sudden?" She told her kinda annoyed but not exactly mad or agressive. as the flames of the campfire burned high into this night sky, they listened to the pink girl's dream. Most laughted at her for that dream. "That's probably goddess Morrighan you saw, you probably drank too many holywater as of resently". The young ice mage did take the girl's dream seriously and listened till the end.
In the morning, both of them had sleep there, far enough from the wolves. An owl came down from the sky and delivered a scroll to her. Her pink friend woke up soon and asked what it was about. "Just a small delivery quest.. Old Duncan lost an earing in Sidhe Sneachta."
"Oh Miss Duncan did?" Her friend responded. "Yes Duncan.. Sigh" She then affirmed back to her. After heading to Sidhe Sneachta, they looked around the snowmen to find the earing. It was her friend that found it.. she was smashing the head of all the snowmen till she found it. Why did she have to be so violent really...
Once they got back to old Duncan, he thanks them but mentions that it was a favor for someone else. "If you head toward Sidhe Sneachta, I hear there is a strange structure there. He said he made the snowman in remembrance of seeing that building… They say the structure is connected to another place by some magical power… But it doesn’t seem just anyone can enter… There are many rumors about a Druid who lost all of his family and couldn’t overcome the sorrow… and he turned into a bear.â€. Currious about that, She decided to go investigate that rumor but sadly, her friend was more preocupied at repairing her blacksmithing hammer. She was struck by curiosity for this snowy place, and as she ventured to the northern-most point, she came upon a bear on a Druid's Altar. It was large, but it didn't attack her and she noticed it seems to be gathering Mana Herbs. She just happened to have gotten some yesterday from the ciar run she did, and start feeding the bear while listening absently to its growls. It wrote the word, "Tarlach", with a paw, in the snow. It was a pretty weird bear she thought as she left the place to go back to Tir Chonaill. Meeting back her pink friend, she went to tell old Duncan about what she saw in the snowy forest. Old Duncan starts in surprise; it's the name of the third lost warrior, a trio of legendary warriors (and legendary friends) who went missing while searching for Tir Na Nog. "Tir Na Nog..." She repeated slowly.. intrigued by that name.
Her friend seemed more interested in finding about those three legends first and she didn't know where to look so they both started asking around the village for more information on those legends. Their research streched out to Dunbarton and the magic teacher there, Stewart seemed to know something. After some convincing, He finally talked about how he holded a pendant that belongued to Tarlach and gave it to them. He mentions that people have thought that the Three Warrior's story was proclaimed to be only a legend, but that he believes it. Both of them traveled back to Tir Chonaill to watch the memories of that pendant in Alby dungeon. Tarlach, they found out, was searching for Tir Na Nog, and was joined by a wandering swordsman by the name of Ruairi, and an archeress training under Ranald by the name of Mari. They learned that it is strange that the spiders in Alby have gotten so huge and learned that Mari has lost her memory of her earlier youth. They also learned that Tarlach is searching for Tir Na Nog to reunite with his sister who was killed by Fomors. They were mostly struck, while viewing the memories, that a goddess appeared in Ruairi's dreams as well, calling him to help her.
As they walked out of alby dungeon, she asked her "he had the exact same dream than you didn't he?"
"Yea she did.. She was quite powerful too.. more than I am... I want to meet them now.."
They talked out about what they saw and rested for the night in Tir's inn. In the morning they decided that finding Tir Na Nog was the fastest way to find them. They went to old Duncan for help and he is amused by their questions, but tells them that a priest is more qualified to answer them. When asked, Priest Meven only smiles kindly and tells them how the warriors were lost and separated. He also tells them how Tarlach is the only one to survive, and then only barely, eating Mana Herbs to remain stable. Meven tells them how, since Tarlach is allergic to mana herbs, he is forced to change into a bear by day to consume these. Meven then gave them a book and suggest that they go to Sidhe Sneachta during nighttime when Tarlach is human, as Tarlach is the one who can best answer questions about his own past. They though it was a good idea but her friend decided to stay behind. As she headed to there, she read the book while going. She realize that the Goddess Morrighan is the stone guardian and the stone face she see prior to their battles with the Fomors.
At night, she found Tarlach, exactly like in the memories she saw. After talking to Tarlach about what she have read, he told her his story, and about what he and his friends were searching for, the Land of Eternity, Tir Na Nog. But she insisted on knowing more and he suggested she read The Land of Eternity, Tir Na Nog. Meeting back with her at the inn, they talked about how they would need to find that book. The next day, they took their things and left the inn to travel to Dunbarton. On their way there, they met one of hammer girl's friend. A somewhat persistent girl in a long black dress. She halted their travel for a while until they finally bought some potions from her. "Is that a friend of yours?"
"Yes it is" she replied back to her mage friend, "We met a few days ago in Ciar, she's nice ^^ "
"Ah.." she let out a litle before they continued their travel in silence. Those potions weren't that bad and mana potions tent to be rare so.. It might be good to remember her name.
When they arrived to Dunbarton, they went to see Aeira the bookseller. She recalls that the book is no longer in stock, but she was very persistent. After staying the night there and talking to her again, she explains that the publisher is printing another volume of it. After waiting another day and talking to her again, she promises to send an owl when the book is ready, trembling a little as she said it. Like they haven't waited enough already...
Part 1 - End
Part 2 - Begin
It took a long amount of time but they finally got it, the book called "The Land of Eternity, Tir Na Nog"! Hammer girl wasn't much into reading so she ended up having to read it outloud for her, kind of emmbarassing.. The book talked about the origin of the legend but from the way the write spoke of the legend, it was visible how the autor didn't believe in it. "The Land of Youth... Paradise.." She said to herself, pondering on the possibility of becoming immortal. As for her friend.. well she had fallen asleep on her. After multiple failed attemps to wake her up, she ended up having to drag her to Manus place so they could borrow a bed for the night. During the night, she dreamt of paradise as a really beautiful world.
At morning, her hammer friend was already awake, talking with Manus. Interupting her to reacess their situation, both of them decided to visit Tarlach once more. Travelling up north to Tir Chonaill and then deep within Sidhe Sneachta, it was already night time and they found Tarlach who seemed to be reflecting on something. While her friend was busy cutting some wood to make herself a fire to warm up, the young girl asked him about Paradise and if he ever found it. Tarlach seemed indifferent, or even troubled that they were still looking for such fantasy but to her persuasive use of words, he gave them a brown fomor pass and tell them they will find more if they use it on Barri dungeon altar. Why did they have to go all the way to such a soffucation and hot place! Annoyed, she left, taking her friend by the back of her clothes and dragging her away.
As they arrived in Dunbarton the next day, they started looking for someone to help them search the depths of Barri brown fomor pass dungeon. People were indifferent to their request and barely none looked like adventurers. As they were going to abandon the search for the day, the hammer girl suddenly started to call out to someone and as she got closer, it was that potion girl from a few days ago. Her friend took care of the negosiations and when it was over, she came back to tell her about how they could ask the help of a mercenary currently in town. Near the Dunbarton school, they found a girl in green clothes shooting arrows on wooden targets. Calling out to her, they talked it out and got her help for a modest price.
The next morning, all three of them left for Bangor. The trip to the south was soffucating and difficult. you really must be crazy to live in this hot and dry city that Bangor in. As they offered the brown fomor pass to the altar of Barri dungeon, they entered a dungeon that hammer friend said she didn't recognise. Their party consited of a mage, a warrior and an archer and all three togeter well somewhat working well. Hammer girl and the mercenary had a few problems with each others but it's irrivelent to the result of the search in this gremlin infested mine. At what seemed to be the end of the path they took, they dicovered a black fomor wizard who offered them a few words.
"Humans... This is a forbidden place that you cannot enter... How dare you disturb the guardian of the fomor medal! You are clearly disobeying the will of the goddess..!"
"Those who rebel against the gods... you do not deserve to live! No one shall remember your existance. I'll make sure you will be forever forgotten..."
"I am here by the will of the Goddess! In the name of goddess Morrighan, may a curse fall upon the human race!"
The battle raged on afterward as he started to shoot deadly fire bolts at them. but due to the support of the mercenary and the raw strengh of hammer girl, they vanquished the fomor wizard and found a fomor medal within his possessions. Using the power of the goddess statue, they left the dungeon and pondered on the medal's meaning. Why did Tarlach send them to find this wizard and this medal.. The priest in Bangor was not able to help them and so after they payed off the mercenary for her help, they both headed back to a much more cooler place, to Dunbarton. Once there, they met the potion girl again who told them to go visit Meven in Tir Chonaill. Luckily for them, at night the moon tunnel just happened to be bound to The one of Tir Chonaill. That saved them a day or traveling. After that, both of them took a room in the inn of the vilalge and rested till day. First thing in the morning, they interogated Meven about the medal and learned that it was really a priest medal and that it had fomor writings behind it.
As they search ended to another wall, the young mage girl proposed that they should split up and search. On the proposal, hammer girl quickly took the medal and left. Since she was heading to Alby dungeon, the mage girl decided to take her stuff from the inn and head back to Dunbarton, maybe she could ask someone there if they knew fomor script. On her trip to Dunbarton, an owl came down to her and gave her a message from hammer girl. "I found out the words on the medals are -Dul Brau Dairam Shanon- Going to look at it some more." That could help she tought to herself. While in Dunbarton after she finaly reached it the next day, she droped off the words "Dul Braum Dairam Shanon" in various conversations and there was no responce to those until by her surprised, Kristell the priestess tell her the meaning of those words. "Oh Goddess, Please bestow me with your powers". Kristell seemed curious about why she was looking for those and after she mentionned Tarlach's quest to Barri dungeon, she seemed troubled.
Kristell told her about how she was infact a succubus and gave her a pair of glasses that she said belonged to Tarlach. If she was to offer those at Rabbie dungeon, she would be able to see his memories and explain a few things. Rabbie dungeon wasn't too far and holding those glasses, the young mage girl took a trip to it and offered them as told. The memories were focused on Tarlach search for a link to Tir Na Nog. What surprised her was how at the end of another failed trip within Rabbie dungeon, Tarlach met with a succubus that loked exactly like Kristell. In those memories, she claimed her love to him and tried to force him to love back but he easily defeated her to continute his search. The mnories faded away as the young mage came back to reality. Meeting back with Kristell again, she asked her about her past...
