so..... i've been randomly playing scoreless once in a while, but at rank d, it really just doesnt train up, so it seems. so....... is it really necessary for the char to learn composing and rank it alongside instrument play?? its just that, i know comp gives good int, and i might rank it later on when i got nothing more to rank up. but right now my base int is 250, and i dont use blaze or anythign else, just thunder and ice and firebolt. the point of learning instrument play was to up my dex yes?? so... i want to spare all the ap's i can for dex skills, which is kind of like an emergency xD so, do yall advise me to lay off intrument play till im ready to rank up compose?? or should i just do it ever so slowly?? :P what think ye??

Ranking Music Theories (keeping it 2 ranks higher than your instrument) allow you to create one note scrolls to make it easier to rank instrument.
Composing does nothing in terms of helping you to rank.
Best method is just to spam instrument with a bot or something. Best to do it in a dungeon or people will complain about it like it is big deal.

I would hold it off if AP matters a lot right now.

i learned music theroy to A a long time ago, when i was building int. :c
but my inst play is rank d right now :D
so i guess... i just gotta do it really slowly, then rank theory 2 ranks above music playing~ thankies for the nice information.

I trained from rD to rB using r9 Scrolls. With a 4 rank gap I had about 12% Great successes. But 2 ranks higher works the best. I buy training scrolls tough, because I've got r7 Music knowledge. I'll take it to r6 once I get r9 playing. On and a 6 rank difference was about 5% great successes. BTW scrolls that are 2 ranks below your Playing rank give no training.
L64. and a space seems to play faster than just a space. Someone once told me of an even faster one, but I lost it when Player went down.

You don't necessarily need it to be 2 ranks higher, that just allows for great sucesses, rather 2 ranks below is the minimum rank you want if your playing default music. I suggest you get someone else with the required rank Music Knowledge to make you a 'training scroll'. In most cases its just a single note song, but will still give experience and save time compared to default music, especially at later ranks.
