And I thought this up.

Day 1
This is a diary I'll be keeping of my research into Longa Desert. Being a Giant, I'm am very wary of my surroundings. But I believe that if we were to better understand each other, then maybe the feud between our races could cease. In any case, I've decided to begin my studies with the Desert Ghosts. The one in the arena, the only one able to talk normal as far as I can tell, tells me they hold some kind of secret, but he either cannot remember or doesn't know.
My combat skills aren't very reliable, I've always felt more comfortable with a book in my hand than a sword, so I'm a bit afraid to venture further into this desert filled with monsters and ghosts without my aide, a friend from back home. He won't be here until tomorow at the latest, so for now I make camp. Far from Filia, but not too far into the desert. At least I hope not..
Day 2
My friend leads the way into the desert, he believed he saw a figure in the swirling sands. Sand keeps hitting my face, stinging me, getting in my eyes and mouth. Do the elves enjoy living in this place...?
We found something. At first it seemed like a settlement, but as we got closer, it appeared the Desert Ghosts were just standing around. There must be 20 or so, unmoving, none of them looking in any particular direction. Scorpions walk by them as if they don't exist. The flying sand doesn't seem to bother them. I see weapons on some of them, they might all be weilding weapons. The way they hold bows looks familiar.
We're making camp nearby, I want to keep a close watch on them. If they move, I want to know where and why.
Day 3
A couple began walking off near daybreak, and we quickly followed. I don't know how long or how far we followed, but they seemed to be going somewhere specific, and I was very eager to find out where.
That's when the sandstorm picked up. The winds were ferocious, and surrounded us like a funnel of sand and wind. I needed to close my eyes so the sand couldnt get in them, and before I knew it I had passed out. When I awoke my friend was luckily nearby, and we were in what seemed to be an underground cavern. I can hear a buzzing or crackling every now and then that send chills up my spine, but I can't figure where they're coming from.
Is there no end to this maze? How long have we been traveling? We passed a few doors that had strange markings on them, ancient Irinid writing. I knew enough to decode them; telling us to shout out a phrase, and the door would swing open. The buzzing gets louder the further we go. My friend tells me it might be the insect monsters that possibly live here.
I wonder if we'll ever make it out. There might be more of those blasted doors, or trap holes, or a giant monster bigger then even us that can swallow us whole.
Day 4
Writing this is all I have at the moment. My friend is gone. He could be dead, he could be on the other side of the desert. We made it to what seemed to be the center, I saw light and some stairs; an exit. As we ran with what little energy we had left, the area around us grew hotter. My friend stopped me and I saw these lizard looking creatures, but they were on fire. There were dozens of them. They didn't attack, just stared. Then the ground shook. And a bloodcurtling roar that I will never forget made me turn around to see what at first appeared to be living fire. It's mace was enormous, and it wasted no time charging for us. MY friend pushed me towrds the stairs and I ran without looking back. All I heard was metal clashing, flame crackling, and a scream.
Perhaps coming here wasn't the best idea..
Day 6
I have no desire to chase the Desert Ghosts anymore. I just want to go home and sleep without worry. To play in the snow with my son. To be with my wife. Not to lean against this rock, baking in the desert sun, hoping that some kind of insect or lizard doesnt creep around and snap my head off.
It's becoming apparent to me I won't make it home. And so I write this, in the hopes someone will find it. Someone will know what happened to me.
My wife, Kerling, I love you dearly, and always will.
My son, Taunes, stay strong and always trust your heart.[/SPOILER]
