I'm not sure if a Guide has been made yet on this, but this is a way to find the Mimic w/ the Key much faster. No mods needed.
Tired of Clicking on the wrong Mimic having it bite your head off, or are you just in a rush to get pass the room?
Well, I have a tip on how to find the Correct Mimic much faster.
First, find a pit of Mimics in a dungeon.
Now, right click on the mimics.
Now here's the important part: As you right click the Mimic, it should appear as the rotate cursor if it's the correct mimic, and the Cursor would remain as the fist if it's the Monster Mimic.
That's pretty much it. If you guys have any questions, Comment Below? c:

Hmm, I'm going to have to try that later. I usually just get on a mount and click on them all until I get the right one. Then again dealing with mimics isn't too much trouble in the first place.

Yeah :P
Well, this is prob just in-case someone's too lazy to deal with Mimics, or they're dealing with a bunch of Hard Mobs.

You can also load up windmill and put your cursor on the chests. The real chest won't have the fist icon it would have the icon that you get where you can't windmill.

Your way is probably faster, but the way I do it is move the camera around as to allow me to see through the chests. Mimic chests always have their teeth show through, real chests aren't as see-through and when you do see through them there obviously won't be any teeth. I just swing the camera around while running to quickly check.
Also, don't forget to mention that if you're on a mount, you can simply click on every chest safely. Mimics won't wake up (right away, sometimes after a bit of time one will become active) and you can open real chests on a mount.

All the veterans know this.
You could also just mount a pet and open every chest until one opens.

This guide is not likely talking about veterans. Only nubs like me who had no idea about this.

Riding a mount, and clicking all the chest until you get the right one also works

What's even more fun, but less time-effective, is spam AoE pets near the mimics. It helps that in a room full of mimics, only a corner mimic is ever a real treasure chest. (so there's only 4 you need ever check.)

I didn't know about this trick. I only knew about the WM, AoE, and mount trick.
Though I usually just click them all normally since I need Mimic fomor scrolls anyway.
This is handy for RP dungeons where I really don't need Mimics, though. For example if the RP character does not have WM.
