Nether mod.

  Is there a mod that makes the Nether actually worth going to? Ignoring the fact that some alchemy ingredients are there and would give a reason.

  There is nothing worthwhile in the Nether (not counting alchemy stuff).

  Silk touch pickaxe + ice and grass block.

  If you need a new location to start over again without worrying about being tempted to go back, you can use the nether for 8x distance travel.
